Ok so we didn't land one of the overpriced pass rushers who might have been a risk anyway so now what? Lets land a safety, cornerback and figure out if a trade for an overpriced pass rusher that is less risky can work (except that broken leg). Mo Wilkerson will cost us out R1 pick and then some and will require a longterm sign and trade deal but he would provide what we are missing and what has been elusive, A pass rusher at 29 would be cheaper but might also be a bust. This guy is legit.

Go after other needs at this point. Go after a C, CB & ILB. First couple of draft picks need to be pass rushers. Maybe even tab 3 in the draft and hope one or more pan out. It's a shame we can't offer Von Miller a contract because at this point I would trade 2 first round picks for an elite pass rusher. Maybe a veteran gets cut (Terrell Suggs just got in trouble again or maybe Wake gets cut). Otherwise it looks like Freeney just jumped to the top of our list unless we make a run at Vernon.

What are your thoughts on Wilkerson. No Von MIller but also would be cheaper in terms of cash and picks. I know we have rehashed this guy's warts but if Miami pulls the transition tag as is rumored, Oliver Vernon would be available without compensation.

I was hoping Wilkerson would avoid the tag and we would throw money at him. He's the single best defensive player in free agency, not counting Von Miller since there was zero chance he would hit the open market.

Wilkerson is apparently a hard guy to get along with but he'd be a nightmare matchup in our system.
