Just a note on our magic number or "2" versus Green Bay to clinch the first-round bye. Any wins by the Cardinals or losses by the Packers adding up to two would do this, with TWO exceptions:

1) Packers lose two BUT the Cardinals lose all three and the Seahawks win out and make up enough ground on the strength-of-victory tie-breaker (highly unlikely) to win the division. We would be the 5-seed.

2) Packers lose only ONCE (to Minnesota), and the Cardinals lose out (but win the division), not satisfying the magic number of "2." However, if the Vikings were to win out, they would take the NFC North at 11-5 and the Cardinals back their way into the first-round bye as the 2-seed.

Ha ha, I wasn't planning on watching it either, but after I posted it, I did. Found a cool way to fast forward it 5 secs, just use the right arrow key.

So what are the scenarios now?

This weeks game is huge. Have to avoid Lambeau in the 2nd round.

If we win or tie a game, and/or Green Bay loses or ties a game, we're the #2 seed. Obviously, beating Green Bay this week would suffice :)

The nice thing is the Cardinals control their own destiny and do not have to rely on any other team to help them.

Beating GB is the easiest route. If that happens they can play the starters a quarter or half against SEA. If they lose they are forced to beat SEA which could be tough given seeding implications for both.

There are no seeding implications for Seattle If the packers win they will be locked at 6. They could rest some guys on defense esp if we go to the 3 seed because we would play them wildcard weekend.

If they have the same record as Minney there is. They have the tie breaker over Minney and would give them the #5 seed, and the NFC east winner. You bet they want to keep that.

Absolutely!

I just kind of want to win both. Is that asking for too much?

:D

I definitely have BFS. I was rooting for the Saints for half the game last night for tie-breaker implications, before I realized we don't need those anymore.

I'd love it! 14-2 and a sweep of the Chickens? Hell yeah!

What happens if when the cards are the #2 seed? Do they play a few games at home and who would they be playing?

The main thing would be you get a bye in the first . Another key is that every playoff game you have is at home unless it's a match up with the number 1 seed. But if you meet up with the number 1 seed you're playing in Carolina, but it's for the right to go to the super bowl.
