It was a trade to unload Nurkic and his salary. At least the Suns got a 2nd round pick back. Cody Martin might be of some help.

Martin is a defensive-minded wing, kind of in Okogie-mode with less athleticisim but more IQ.

Miciic has some playmaking skills and he is OK as a 3rd string PG. Both will be gone after this summer.

The Hornets have 3 2026 2nd rounders: their own, DEN and GSW.

If we got their own (unlikely), it is a good trade.

We are going to be in serious trouble if we don't unload KD this offseason. And we can't include Beal because we will need the increased draft capital KD provides by himself.

Otherwise the next 5 years are going to be a huge slog of mediocrity. At least I can pass on the league pass for a bit and save some money.

I don't think we're going to be able to attain mediocrity.

The wheels are about to fly off.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Do we know if they got the corpse of Kurt Thomas back in this trade?

idk - all 3 of the so called big 3 got reality checks these past couple weeks - book missed the all stars and is going thru the soft label again - faux star moniker too - beaten by ayton (twice) - all that's gotta hurt

beal found out nobody in the entire league wants him at his current salary with the ntc - dude lost his starting spot and not just to dunn - but apparently to greyson and oneale too - all that's gotta hurt

then we have the once infallible kd - who knows his turnovers are getting older than he - found out he was being shopped the hard way - by being asked if he'd relocate - all that's gotta hurt

I say all these things hurt because i believe these three still care and for some inexplicable reason - they all still want to be here - we think they're done - cooked - finito but im guessing they don't

don't get it twisted tho - we don't have any shot - we aren't even in the million to one odds - we're going no where

Even if they are focused and fighting they can't keep it up until the end. Losers after three normally.

Suns suck. But they are paid handsomly.
