There will be a celebration for the Mets this afternoon.

The last time Mets fans saw their team at Citi Field, they extended their hopes of a World Series against the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

As they return with Juan Soto in tow and Pete Alonso back, the first home game brings added excitement and optimism.

The wait is over with first pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. against the Blue Jays. Tylor Megill draws the start for the Mets against Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman.
