Doesn't sound familiar. I have DirecTV satellite, so it might be on Pay-Per-View.

Isn't Sunderland v Millwall on Sky?

Cool. You must get some strange looks from people when you wear your Cards jersey to the game.

Lucky the Cards don't wear blue or you might get killed. :)

I wish I could get the game here.

Dont think that was a factor. If anything i thought that would work against us.

To be honest Celtic are unbeatable at home. Havent lost at home for 70+ games including Bayern Munich, Barca, Valencia, Juventus, Lyon ,Celta Vigo, Porto etc etc

Wish the Cards were the same!

There was one year they made a run for the playoffs, maybe late 80's and they just caught my eye and it's grown from there

Used to see the CLaymores a lot, atmosphere so poor though i stopped going. Do feel guilty about not going however, but its really like watching a different sport.

Thanks. I wanted to thank you for pimping Sunderland on this site. I've never really followed English football, but now I find myself thinking, "Gee. I hope Sunderland can beat Reading" and "Hey, Daz thinks we can still get up in the top 4 for automatic promotion to the Premiership!" I don't even know who Daz is!

It's not like I don't spend enough time on the internet all ready. When I get divorced and lose my job I am coming over there and live with you.

Yeah, Renz, but you need a Premiership club too...top-flight English soccer...how about good old Newcastle United? :D

he was ok for us just prone to thenodd BIG mistake every few games - was just not good enough in the end

it think he gets away with it in Scotland as SPL teams are good enough to punish the mistakes - in europe he has looked good though

Boo! Don't listen to him!

C'mon English...you know it's COMPLETELY unfair to call Newcastle the Cowboys of the EPL. We all KNOW what 2 teams *cough-Man U and Arsenal* we should label the Cowgirls.

If anything, Renz, English rooting for Newcastle would be like a Penn State fan rooting for the Browns. Sure, there may be some state college rivalry, but what's college (aka, division one) have to do with the pros (aka the Premiership)? Lol JUST KIDDING, ENGLISH!

No, if anything, Newcastle to English is like Philly or NY to us.

Newcastle 3 Charlton 1...and we take a step closer to Champs League action. We're actually 5th, not from standings or even goal differential...Liverpool and the Magpies are even...they just have one more victory. Things are heating up with the EPL elite!

Sunderland AFC 2 Gillingham 1

Sunderland is now in 4th place, one point behind Sheffield Utd. for third and they still have two games in hand. Premiership here we come!

Now beat Derby and Millwall!!! :fans:

How many are promoted to the Premiership? If it's just three, I want Sheffield (soft spot for them for some reason), West Ham (gotta love the Hammers...loved their Doc Martin's kits) and Sunderland (no hatred for the crosstown boys...kinda like the Cards and other teams-at the moment, Sunderland can't possibly be a rival, because they're not in our league Lol).

The top 4 are promoted automatically. The next two have to playoff of some sort. That's why the teams all fight to get into the top 6 in the lower divisions.

Its good to see I am not the only soccer fan around here. I coach youth soccer, have been doing it for years now.

Didn't Claudio Reyna(US Captain) play for Sunderland recently? I know he plays for Manchester City now but it couldn't have been more than 1 or 2 years ago.

I love the game so much I'm considering leaving my current job in the government to open my own soccer store in the east Valley. Still weighing my options...
