I don't see anyone trading up to Cards. Crap. Bad year to be holding the #1.
I have no idea why you're saying this. There's pretty much a consensus #1 overall player, that has been sitting at the top of everyone's boards.

The #1 overall pick has only been moved out of in a trade 3 times in the past 20 years and it only benefited one of those teams who traded back. The "haul" you're talking about is generally wasted.

Edit: My point is, just because it's not dramatic, and they're already making it dramatic, doesn't mean it's bad.

Keep in mind, the Dee Ford trade now means #2 would be anyone's game at QB. The instant we move back to #4, the phone lines will go nuts for Murray or Haskins. The 49ers could immediately recoup that 2nd rounder in a trade with the Giants.

Now you are making me think :)

Dee Ford is a good get but not without risks so why wouldn't the 9ers stay put and take Bosa. They would go from a decent pass rush to a fantastic one and that seems to be the rage in the NFL, get two stud rushers.

Now for the thinking part, why would the Cards take another QB when the new HC got hired because he sold the FO on how good Rosen is and how he would fix them and we have a big need in the front 7.

I've wanted to trade back and get extra picks but now I'm all about staying put and taking Bosa.

I bolded your point... if that's good thinking of the 49ers, why isn't it for us? I'd rather crash in on a shellshocked Jimmy G than watch Murray run for his life.

Well that is what I said in the last sentence of my post.

if you are the Giants:

1. Trade up to #1 or so to get Dwayne Haskins?
2. Stand pat at #6 and hope he falls to you?
3. call the Cards and offer #17 for Rosen?

not sure who the competition is to get Haskins -- Denver at #10? Dolphins at #13? Washington at #15?

If I'm them, I stand pat and take Murray, Haskins, or potentially Drew Lock later on. I'm not sacrificing talent to my now potentially league worst roster and giving up picks.

Yep, the precedent is set. Teams will start putting stricter language in the contracts to prevent that.
players will include no trade clauses in the contracts to prevent from being traded to Bills and Cardinals of the world too, no?

Many already do.. Fitz had no trade clause in his last few contacts... That way he was guaranteed to stay with the Cardinals ;)
