This weekend it was at least ten below with the wind chill in Chicago.

That did not stop the wife and I from going to the best hot dog stand in the world (or just Chicago.)

Hot Dougs. Opens at 10:30 a.m. We were there at 10:15 am.

There were people waiting in their cars for the place to open.

We ordered:

1) Her - a brat with everything.

2) Me - a polish sausage with everything, and a duck sausage with orangey mustard. Fries fried in duck fat.

Delicious.

Encased meats on a bun for breakfast with artic temperatures outside are a beautiful thing!!

I think I'm going to buy some Hebrew Nationals this weekend. They are delicious.

I'm thinking I may drive all the way out to Ted's this weekend. Maybe drag my parents along. Haven't been to Ted's since I was a kid. Best hot dogs anywhere. (In the Valley, that is...imho).

Ted's is very good. It is in Tempe. Broadway and McClintock. Footlong with cheese and chili and All-beef with everything.

Good times.

Yep. Ted's originated in Buffalo (where my parents are from/where I was born) and my folks were so ecstatic to learn that there was one here when it was first built many many years ago. I was out picking up Taylor from Jay's house (he lives near there) and I saw it...brought back some good memories.

I eat hotdogs about three times a week. By far and away my favorite food of all time.

My parents get beef on wick from somewhere, & it's damn good. I'll find out where they get it for you...

I just ate a knockwurst and beef franks from a small bosnian shop up in Queens. I loved the snappy case, but the meat was kinda bland. However, this little shop also had like 10 diffferent kinds of ccured smoked, double smoked, and pressed bacons. I tried them all. Man, I love me some bacon. Especially when its wrapped around a crif dog from the East Village.

I am headed to NYC this Friday. Have reservations for Peasant on Friday, and some other place called Becco or something on Saturday. Hope to make it to Gray's Papaya sometime.
