It's super early but that trade looks like pure theft. Moreno is a top 5 catcher and Gurriel is 50 points higher in OPS than Varsho

Lourdes wasn't traded because he's mediocre; quite the contrary. Solid at the plate and has a good outfield arm. He likely has a big payday coming up, and that's what the Jays were getting rid of while they could. We have two solid catchers, and Varsho has contributed to making our outfield the best defensive three-some statistically in the majors by far. At the plate, Varsho is coming around, and his power numbers at this point - 11 HR and 26 RBIs - speak to a solid first season in TO.
