here you guys go check out 3 of our new songs freshly recorded in LA, and next week we travel up to new york for the next two months to finish our recording of 10 new songs since warner is bein asses and wont give our original 11 songs back for the Epic cd release.

All in all, Im proud of what we have done in such a short time.

http://www.sirenrock.com/cellmate.html

Songs

"Grape Jelly"
"PeeWee"
"Velvet Elvis"

(the names have nothing to do with the songs, thats just what they are called until cd is completed).

CD should be either done in August, then we got the whole remixing bit, then hopefully october release but most likely december.

THANKS FOR THOSE WHO SUPPORT!

Right on Trent. I am going to check them out when I get home. When you say that Warner won't give you those songs back, does that mean that they are gone or do you simply need to record them?

They won't let us re-record the songs under the Epic label because those are licensed under the Warner label. Therefore, we have to pay a hefty price, money that this band does not have at the time, to get the songs back under our name.

Therefore, on the new cd, unless Epic forks it out, you won't hear the likes of Body Crumbles, Slip Away, Sorry, Forever Beautiful, Disconnected, Last Time, So Long Ago, Ordinary, Brave, and Silence.

Those bastards! Record companies are dirty!

Oh well...put out a great release on Epic and shove it up Warner's collective butts!

If you need the names of some good intellectual property attorneys in and around Phoneix let me know and I'll put you in touch with them. I'm 52 but I "dig your songs the most"!!!!! Good luck.

I'm curious, if they signed the rights to the songs to a label in exchange for compensation, how could they get their songs back?

I am a Lead vocalist, Jeff Trent Gutt (pronounced Goot)

We can't get into any legal terms, we got compensation for our short term under Warner with Jeff Blue as manager (also helped bring in Linkin Park).

Unfortunately we were too excited to think about the situation, and it stated in our contract that if we are terminated, we must pay a hefty amount of money to get the songs back. Which we will do eventually, just not right away. I don't have a problem with writing newer stuff, in fact, I have over 100 different songs I can do in my mind with lyrics all done and written.

Thanks for the offer guys, but im perfectly fine with this kind of stuff...too laid back to let this get to me.

Just to add, we got it lucky, especially with getting this new deal. If it wasn't for our Locobazooka tour last summer with Sevendust and Filter, we wouldn't be signed with Epic now. The music industry is very dirty when you get signed to a major record label, but with me I have the creative mind and passion to go all out in music, I'll do anything. If all else fails, I'll still have a diploma from hs coming up, and then try and pursue the goal of being a lawyer.

It's great that you guys "dig" my music, honestly, when I get a chance to and play in Phoenix again, I'll do anything for you guys. Fans are the only thing that drives music and bands.

 Trent, my best as always, I hope everything works out for you guys. If/when we ever get signed, one point I'm fighting for is COMPLETE CONTROL of our masters. My songs mean the world to me. If that means independent label over majors, so be it.

When you're back in Phoenix, PM me, we still need to hook up that jam we talked about :)

hey trent and vince, my buddies and I are always looking to hear good new local stuff. If you guys are having events at local clubs and bars, especially in Tempe, post it on this site, I am sure lots of people would be interested in going. There is nothing much better in life than drinking beers and listening to good music.....
