Let's not go overboard on this. A second year head coach with his third year QB in their first ever Super Bowl and without their best offensive weapon being healthy came up 10 points short against the greatest HC and QB in NFL history in their 9th Super Bowl appearance together.

This says more about the Pats than it does about the Rams. That is all.

Goff looked about as average as I believe he is. My fear is that Rosen may not be any better. K2 may do for Rosen what McVay did for Goff. Problem is, that may bring Rosen from horrid status to what we saw last night.

I wasn't making an over-generalization about Goff based on last night. He's still a great QB. Top-10 in the league without debate. My point is the line played atrocious last night and kept him guessing, which highlights the importance of having a line that's not ranked 32nd in the NFL.

Irrespective of what you think about Rosen, he's like any rookie QB last season, he needs support to be successful. Last night, the Rams line played a lot like ours played all season. Pressure in the QB's face as soon as the ball was snapped and throwing aimlessly.

Trust me, I really haven't given up hope that Rosen works out. I'm just still pissed off that our coaching top to bottom was so bad that even though Rosen played most of the year, we still don't know with any certainty what we have. It just may slow down K2's ability to hit the ground running.

I mean, Goff WAS a legit MVP candidate for 9+ weeks. That's not nothing. This team advanced to the Super Bowl, and was 10 points away from winning it.

McVay had guys open much of the night; Goff just couldn't find any of them.

While I agree, by and large this was a “regular” patriots defense. Not considerably better than past super bowl champion pats teams. And certainly no 85 Bears or 86 Giants defense. And they kept mcvay to 3 points. The boy genius mcvay has to take a bit of a hit here too. I mean, 3 points after lighting up scoreboards.

The good news is that if we ever make the super bowl there’s a 50% chance we don’t have to face belicheck.

You have to make it to the Superbowl in order to win it. Top 4 offenses faced each other in the Championship Round.

I enjoyed the game, it was good old fashion football. What I saw last night is that good defense still beats good offense. Especially when you give a great defensive coach like Belicheck 2 weeks to come up with a game plan to shut down your offense. I was surprised by the lack of in game adjustments from the Rams sideline to combat what the Patriots were doing defensively.

Where’d all those people go who told me you couldn’t win with defense in the NFL because of rule changes.

Aggravates me how the game is getting knocked as boring. Old school fans can appreciate the game for what it was. Newer fans want a pinball machine type of game. This was a football game and sometimes it’s a defensive battle. Scares me to think what the nfl will try to do to ensure a higher scoring game.

The beauty of football is that there's an offense, defense, special teams all fighting to control an oblong ball that bounces funny.

Anything can happen and I like it that way.

(Note - The ugly of football is the growing impact of the refs).

A championship offense starts with an offensive line. Build that up and they can make an average QB look good.

My thought is that McVay is more than capable to adjust but was limited by Goff's inability to adjust for himself. From my understanding, McVay spends a ton of time on the headset telling Goff the particulars before every play and where to go with the ball and you cannot do that when the defense is changing their scheme constantly at the diversity Belichick can

Just an impression, but -

If you were to eliminate clutch catches made or not made by each team, LA either wins or is close.
