that is almost racist lite. I would be surprised if there wasn't some sort of backlash.

I think it may have been Rome who was interviewing a former All Pro African American from past years. The player did in fact bring up the hip hop culture that has invaded the NFL and its detrimental effect. Can you picture Jim Brown or Gayle Sayers doing some sort of hip hop dance after scoring a touch down. Jim Brown would likely hit his team mate in the mouth if he did. The player said this new culture puts the "I" into play when it should be "team". I do not think this is a racist thing it is just the way it is. The young African Americans learn it on the mean streets of America and they bring it to them in the NFL. Where it really effects team play or not I have no idea. I do not know how you would measure it. Showing emotion is fine but todays players have taken it to a new level. Some have even hired professional dancers to help them choreograph their touchdown dance. I guess I am old school as I just do not dig some of this. If a guy really wanted to stand out after a TD he would walk over to the ref and just hand him the ball.
