Maybe we were and he just wanted to be with the old coaching regime?
That's my thought as well. Let Bowles boost up my value before a big payday next summer. Has to be some higher level of trust there.

The deal between Teddy Bridgewater and the New Orleans Saints is not official. Saints feel like it will get done but the Miami Dolphins are involved, trying to land Bridgewater per sources.

The #49ers are hosting former #Chargers first-round CB Jason Verrett on a visit that will include a physical, source said. He’s played 5 games in the past 3 season, but the talent is there and there is significant interest in him. The physical is critical.

Wanted the Cards to look at Williams, but not for that money. What about Golden Tate at a decent price. Vet receiver that is tough to cover

Raiders were team that was hot after Tyrell Williams early, and maintained their interest even after AB trade. Ageees to 4 yr deal worth $11M/year. Ravens, Saints, Steelers, Jets among others to express interest, several in the $8M-$9M range

11 mil a year is something I would have been happy as a clam for the Cards to give him.

I like the idea of tate but is he still an outside WR at this point in his career?

This last couple days reminds me a lot of the 2011 (I think) off-season, where I just got killed for not being impressed with a big haul of old/broken down/or just plain blegh guys like Todd Heap, Stewart Bradley and Adam Snyder who everyone assumed were going to be "difference makers".

or last off-season... where I got killed for questioning depending on Bradford, Pugh, Andre Smith, and home-grown injuries waiting to happen like Humphries.

The knowledge and evaluation talents of so many on this board blows my mind. The Cards front office should seriously look into hiring some of you as scouts. I'm sure we wouldnt be in our current position if they did.

Better still, they should hire you!

Yeah you are kind of like this all of the time about the Cardinals though Cheese.

You were this way early in the Arians years.

I have my doubts about this offseason too, but I've found that being on the side of light at least makes me feel better. This team is so snake bit that doubting all of their moves is the easy way.

The one thing that makes me at least think the team can turn this around pretty quickly is that Keim HAS built a winner here before. I know this isn't the most popular view on this board, but I think this team can win 8 games THIS season. I honestly believe that their is enough talent at the premium positions and that a good coach can win with this group. Wilks was a 3-13 coach. After every lose, he couldn't even explain how to fix anything. He was in WAY over his head.

What I fell for was Wilks' talk that this team would still run a lot of 3-4 concepts and that McCoy would tailor the offense to the talent. Neither idea was true. McCoy made his name getting good results from GREAT talent. Wilks made his name running a defense that is heavily dependent on LB talent.
