Round 3 options
Obviously anyone left on my round 2 list

Skattebo RB

Isiah Bond WR

Jalen Royals WR

Demetrius Knight LB

Charles Grant OT

Jack Sawyer Edge

Marcus Mbow OG

Smael Mondon LB (injury concerns)

Savion Williams WR (major development required)

Would I spend a pick to move up in 3? Absolutely! Ossenfort has built the depth to make this move if he covets someone.

I want edge but my guess is we're going to take Burden if he's there. I do like Princely my guess is he'll be in the discussion. you see it often in drafts teams are studying one kid and because they see film they see other kids on the same team, that would be the case with Princely when we were watching Nolen.

FYI on Nolen, came across my feed today the Eagles were going to take Nolen and in fact if he had gotten to 20 they were probably going to trade up to get him

I think the early offense run yesterday actually hurt Cam. Because teams went offense early and often there's probably going to be a run on defense today and that might push offensive guys down a bit so Skattebo might not go as high as he originally thought but we'll see.

I like the options in the 2nd. A good player will be there.

We have the 15th pick. 14 players will go before. This is equally about who will go before as what we would like for the Cardinals. All we have to do is count.

You have to assume QB Sanders, RB Henderson and TE Taylor will be drafted in the early 2nd. There is 1 DT (Alexander) left in the early 2nd round range. Someone will panic before the last high rated player is gone. That could happen to OL as well.

Minimum 4 players gone at non relevant positions. We have to count to 11 then (Best fits IMO in italic). Consensus ranking behind name.

WR
Burden - 36
Higgins - 46
Noel - 58

OT
Ersery - 45

Edge
Mike Green - 17

Nic Scourton - 41
Donovan Ezeiruaku - 29
J.T. Tuimoloau - 53
Princely Umanmielen - 60

LB
Carson Schwesinger - 47

CB

Will Johnson - 13
Trey Amos - 38

Shavon Revel Jr. - 42
Benjamin Morrison - 49
Azareye'h Thomas - 50

S
Nick Emmanwori - 29

I will be very okay with any of these 14 players.

I like the CB from Notre Dame but it might be a bit early for him in round 2. Funny, I wanted Campbell but do not want Schwesinger at all in round 2. If Luther Burden is there, he'd have to be in the mix. Scourton or an edge is in play. I wonder how bad Will Johnson's injury concern is. He was a consensus top 10 pick.
TreVeon Henderson would be an awesome pick. Fast, great receiver and great blocker. His running style reminds me of Dalvin Cook.

General thought:

maybe the most talented Edge -- Mike Green

But given Mike's bad press of the last 24 months -- especially involving women -- i cant imagine he wants to be in press conference answering questions why they concluded it was all ok

Theses guys fit Cards
Tate Ratledge G
Princely Umanmielen Edge
Carson Schwesinger ILB
Jaylin Noel WR
Shavon Revel CB
Nic Scourton EDGE

Of course I’ve been touting Princely forever. I prefer him to Scourton. I’m not sure Ratledge is better than Hernandez. Schwesinger is the kind of guy who could lead the defense for years. If they change their mind, Noel has speed to burn. Don’t think they go CB but Revel has round 1 skills when recovered from injury.
If Ratledge is close to Hernandez, then he must be pretty good. We can use an IOL, because as far as I know the jury is out on Hernandez' health. We, as most have said, can also use an ILB and a WR. Hoping in rounds 2,3,and 4, in the order above.

yeah I love Henderson and had to include him in my list as well. However as I mentioned he would be a bit of a luxury pick with the depth at RB this year and RB not being a huge need for the Cardinals. Still I would be stoked if they took him. The kid can do everything at the RB position. Henderson and Benson would be a super strong Duo once Conner moves on in a year or two.

Gotta move on and spend resources somewhere other than the D line now. Give me a guard and a WR today. I still hope we get a MLB with upside at some point.

The CB convo goes back to the depth chart discussion. Here is the room.

SMB
Max Melton
Garrett Williams
STV
Elijah Jones
K Clark

Do you really want to draft a player who has to compete with Melton to get on the field? If the CB hits, the 2024 draft gets even worse because you wasted a 2nd or 3nd round pick and maybe both.

Good point. Unlike d-line there is little or no rotation with defensive backs. Guard, LB, and WR make more sense.

As much as I like guys like green and I really like Donovan Ez, I don’t see them as guys Gannon leans towards. He seems to prefer bigger dudes on the edge which is why I’m leaning towards Scourton as being the pick if he’s there and they go edge.

Benjamin Morrison looked solid against MHJ two years ago.

I really like Jack Bech if they go WR though.

Burden’s talent is undeniable. He’s one of the receivers that doesn’t think about catching the ball he’s only thinking about his next move. The ego concerns probably remove him as an option for us.

There’s literally no info about the off field stuff when it comes to specific details. I don’t think the Cards touch him but he’s definitely going early now that eyeballs are off the first rd. A Nolen/Green combo would be insane though.
