Maybe it's just because my PC is acting funky in the aftermath of a power outtage, but has anyone else noticed the plethora of pop-up ads and other obstacles that slow down navigating around the official Cardinal website?

Omo -After trying to navigate between Story #1 and Story #2, I got tired of watching the hour glass and came over here instead.

I realize ads are a necessary evil (gotta pay the freight), but sometimes an embarrassment of riches can clutter a site and slow it down unbearably. A balance must be struck.

Jeff, I don't think it's the adds rather the site itself. It takes forever for their website to load, so much so I open it up, minimize it and get back to it later so I can view the darn thing. TOO much needing to be downloaded for my taste (FWIW I have pretty darn fast internet service too).

I'm not seeing the issues...I do have popups disabled, but the site comes up in a second or two...same for navigating between stories...

That's it. Ever since they updated the site prior to the start of the season it has been very slow loading. It's a case of trying to do too much; like putting 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound bag - its bound to be messy!

the way I always tell that a page is poorly designed and hard to open is on my blackberry. the official site takes forever to load on it, and freezes it up on occasion for a few seconds. its pretty bad.

I find it extremely fast and haven't had an issue with it since it first got redone. I have pop-ups blocked and all of my computers are Macs so maybe that has something to do with it??

It's OK nowadays not as slow when they first launched it
but from time to time, I find some broken links
