Dansby to Dolphins for 5 year contract. Man, what a day :bang:. I fully expect Cards to go Linebacker in the 1st round now. Next year should be interesting to see tons of young guys on D though. You never know what can happen

how so? the Fins have been a solid team for two years and are run by one of the biggest winners in all of pro-sports. Seems like he got his cake and ate it too, no?

Dansby has said for years, he wants a big pay day. Same with Boldin and now Rolle......that's been the talk for awhile now.

As a fan of a team it sucks when plays bail for money when we feel our team offered a fair contract. I can't begrudge the players though on a personal level, we'd all do the same thing and get the most we can out of our short career.

Yeah, agreed. It sucks but i think its better than the Cards over paying for these guys, locks up to much money in nothing. I think the Cards will have a great draft

Karlos Dansby expected to sign by Saturday

Karlos Dansby is close to reaching agreement on a contract with the Dolphins and the sides are expected to wrap up negotiations by Saturday morning, a source is telling The Herald's Jeff Darlington.

Dansby, 28, will sign a deal for five years worth $43 million with $22 million of it guaranteed Darlington is reporting.

Isn't that about what the Cardinals offered? I wonder if he had the Dolphins match the Cardinals instead of the other way around.

everyone in the NFL who play at high levels want big pay days... Dansby's getting one and is going to a winner (or at least just as much of a winner as we are).

maybe a little of that... but probably more he wanted to go home to the South and has more faith in Parcells than Graves (which wouldn't be a stretch).

his loss will hurt the most for next season. hopefully, we get someone good in the draft to replace him, but man is our LB core going to be HORRIFIC.

It is probably exactly what we offered and I have no doubt that is what he did. But Dansby has always wanted to return to the South East so he went with the money and location. We all would do the same thing so I don't care anymore if a player uses us or another team to raise their price.

Florida also has no income tax, which is like a 5% raise. 5% of that contract is a lot of money.

^^^ God forbid. I dont think so though, i see it as a reload hopefully. I think Whiz is probably enjoying this even though he will never admit it. Hell draft alot of defense and a couple Linemen and make the team the way he wants it. If the Cards draft well and get a couple Vets on defense to hold it down and let Beanie run over kids they could be interesting still and Dansby wont be missed.

Also Florida has no state taxes, right? That's like an extra 10% or whatever on top.

Also, I think that 'Los was just happy to feel valued.
