There really aren't any rules... just "guidelines".
Keep in mind that there are bound to be people that might not have seen the movie you pick on any given day, but that should not affect your decision of what to pick. But for all intents and purposes, THE ASSUMPTION ON EACH OF THESE THREADS IS THAT THE POSTERS HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE!! So, enter at your own risk if it happens to be something you haven't seen and don't care to know some of the major plot points. There's nothing wrong with spoiler tags, either...
Movies can be any genre, any time period. Keep in mind, though, that many people might not have seen movies that had just been released the week before. One strict guideline will be that you cannot choose a movie that has not been released yet.
You can also be creative and theme your weeks--for example, who wants to bet that mdamien13 will do a "Horror Week"??![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
The great thing about this is that not only can it produce great conversations, but it can convince people who haven't seen the movie to actually see it. It doesn't hurt when you pick huge movies that everyone has seen, too (i.e. just wait till Chandler Mike picks Two Towers).![Thumbs Up  ](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
ADDENDUM: No movie series in a single day--just single movies.
ADDENDUM: There is no rule for number of movies in a single week. You can pick 1 on Monday and none the rest of the week, but then you can also do one every day for a total of 7--it's up to you.
