you seem to think that the suns arent expecting to be rebuilding soon. nash is 34, hill is 35, bell is 31. come on we dont expect shaq to last into the 2010 season. what we do expect is that between this year and next is for the suns to have a solid big man that we have never had. if we can get any more then that great.

The Suns imploding next year would be the best time to do it since the '09 pick is the only pick of theirs they'll get for awhile.

The Suns gave up their 2008 and 2010 first round picks in the KT trade. They will have a first round pick every year except 2009. The Suns still have Atlanta's pick for 2008.

I cant believe Sonics will get a potential (likely) top 10 pick in 2010... just to absorb Kurt Thomas.... who isnt a bad player at all.. just expensive... not to mention the 2009 pick... but hopefully that should be 20~30

There was no protection put on the picks. When a team has you over a barrell knowing you are desperate to drop salary they are not going to do you any favors.

Btw '10 when the Suns have nearly 40mil coming off the books is the year James, Bosh and Wade will be FA. I don't think it will happen but as it stands now the Suns will have max money and then some to offer.

Didn't think about that, but you are probably right. Although Kobe and Raja have become better friends after that whole incident, they just have a mutual respect for each other now.

Windows closing, age, & monstrous contract$ aside.....SHAQ has certainly brought the loosy goosy fun attitude back to SUNS basketball. I enjoyed the P.Conf. & although he said al the right things, I'm RELIEVED that he didn't guarantee us a championship & start talking smack about the Lakers or the Spurs etc....
Had that been the case, my SHAQ credability meter would have dropped to close to zero.
I like that he simply spoke of matching up well with T.Duncan, Y.Ming etc....
Lets hope he's serious about working with the med staff daily & making the good players on this team great players.
