My top three free agents.

1. Peyton Manning QB- While watching the combine I heard C Jeff Saturday say Peyton would be playing this year and at a very high level just like he's always done put a smile on my face. Bringing in Peyton Manning instantly makes us a SuperBowl contender in my mind.

2. Jared Gaither LT- He's the best out there and we need tackle help badly. I know he has had some back problems, but he's only 26 years old. I think we really have to take a chance on him unless a guy like Riley Reiff falls to us in the draft.

3. Marques Colston WR- I like him more than the rest for a few reasons. Both Mike Wallace and Dwayne Bowe have been tagged. Vincent Jackson will most likely be as well and if he's not will cost too much to sign. To me that leaves Colston, Wes Welker and Manningham. I don't see Welker leaving Tom Brady and I like Colston better than Manningham. Colston puts up good numbers, has great hands and size and combining him with Fitz and Peyton sounds like a dream come true for our offense.

My draft picks through four rounds.

1. David Decastro OG- I love the idea of having a probowler for the next ten years on the line. Adding Decastro and Gaither to the O-line would be a huge upgrade and would keep Peyton on his feet instead of on his back.

3. Bruce Irvin OLB- This guy ran a 4.50 at the combine and has the potential to be a bigtime passrusher. He will take some time to develop because he was mostly used as a DE. For us he would have to be a situational passrusher for a year or two while learning to be a 3-4 OLB.

4. Nate Potter OT- This is a future down the road type pick. Potter will need time to develop. He has left tackle feet and movement skills, but will have to get bigger and stronger before he will be ready to be a starter. Give him two years with John Lott and I think he will be ready.

Good stuff, but, San Diego has the inside track on Gaither.

I think Potter is underrated. Like you said he has left tackle feet but what I notice when watching him is that he has a very good kick set which is fundamental to a LT. that is the first movement he makes before engaging the rusher and sets up the rest of the play. A very good OT must have a good kick set and Potters is very promising. I'd take him with our 3rd pick (assuming Irvin isnt there who I do rate higher and who I imagine will likely be gone before the end of the 2nd)

That's a nice scenario as well. I do like Isiah Pead. He did well at the Senior Bowl. I have not looked at Brandon Brooks yet. I do like the guard from Iowa st. Kelechi Osemele in the second round. Right now I still have Jonathan Martin going in the top 15 picks, but he seems to be moving all over the place on draft boards. Right now its hard to say where he ends up.

I would love to get Carl Nicks as well. He's only 27 and has alot of years left in him and he's in his prime.

Your right about Potter. He also gets to the second level very well to take out linebackers. I think he can put 20 pounds on that 6-6 frame pretty easily to gain the strength he needs. Because Irvin did so well at the combine I think you are probably right that he has moved himself into the second round. In that case I would take Potter in the third as well.

Living in NJ, I had great hopes for Sanu, but from what I've seen, he's no Kenny Britt. There's been an absence of explosion and dominance in his play during the past year.

Sanu is a value in the sense that he carries a nice frame---is a good target---and adds versatility as a Wildcat QB. I think he's a late first rounder, early second.

I started a new mock and those were my first 2 pick as well. Irvin has had some off field issues but they were more in high school. He dropped out, got his GED, went to JUCO, then WVA, so smarts may not be his forte. BUt who cares if he can rush the passer? He never played football in HS so his best football is probably still in front of him.

i think after he run a 4,67 at combine he will drop in the mid late second..this year there are too many good free agent wide receiver so probably in this deep class of rookie u can find good ones even in round 3 or 4..anyway sanu is talented..i saw him making some spectacular catches. his speed is much better on the field

Good stuff Snakester-----especially the free agency part. Gaither will not be tagged, nor will he be signed before the deadline. We will have just as good an opportunity to compete as anyone else for him. If we want to get serious about competing for a SB, this is a must move IMO.

Colston is a good fit for a #2 WR. He would make a nice piece of the puzzle for us.

Sorry for the delay in finishing this post, but I was called away for several hours. I believe that if we can get these two into the fold, we have gone a long way to setting up our draft. Of course, that would become an even better position for us if we can manage to sign Levi Brown back in free agency. I believe that is our intent, and that the club has considerable insight, (and intent), on doing just that. Both Whiz and Graves have said that all along, and have not wavered on that point. If they can pull this off, we are much better set for the draft, (Peyton Manning not withstanding).

With our first pick in the draft, we should take DeCastro if he is there. That would really solidify our OL for the long term if we can pull this off. If not, then Luke Kuechly figures to be there and would make another great first round selection, (becoming our eventual replacement for an already solid Paris Lenon), to be paired with Daryl Washington at the Strong Inside Linebacker Position. Those two, (D Wash and Luke), would create a dynamite inside LB corps for the long term.

So far as Manning is concerned, he is the centerpiece gem in the crown that is NFL Royalty. I would guess that we have about as good a chance to land him as anyone. Whether we do, or don't make that jump with Manning, we are set for a really nice draft. Even if we don't get him, we have solidified our team greatly. The rest of the draft can be used for BPA, (and one or two figure to also work for need positions).

Kolb is still a question mark IMO, as I am not sure that he doesn't play scared. It almost looks to me like he completely loses his thought process and panics when the rush comes. I don't know if that is actually true, but it happens often enough to worry me. If that is not the problem with him, and he truly just needed time to absorb our system, he will get that, along with an extra pre-season game to work out the kinks. The HOF game might be a God-send toward that end. Skelton should also benefit from the extra camp time and the HOF game addition, so whether we score in the Manning chase or not, we will most certainly be better off at QB than we were last year.

In any event, we have the makings for a truly remarkable off-season, and any part of the above that we can achieve works toward our long term goals. Many will say this is just wishful thinking,-----but at this stage of the game, it is ALL wishing. If we are wishing, we should wish for the best possible outcome IMO.

Would really like these two to be around those draft slots. I doubt it though.

The best thing that could happen to the Cardinals is a healthy Beanie, Feed the Bean and run 45% with RWILL developing,
The Bean will compete with Fitz and PP as the best players on this team,but- DWaSH may sneak in and be the CARDS MVP for 2012.

The BPA at #13 is this guy by my grades, snag him and don't look back.

Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College: Juan Castillo was a convenient scapegoat for the fact that the Eagles didn't have a middle linebacker play with any kind of consistency in 2011. Philadelphia may be perfectly positioned to nab the most productive linebacker in recent college football history. More decorated than a wedding cake, Kuechly is the reigning Butkus, Nagurski, Lombardi and Lott Impact Trophy Award winner and has more career tackles (532) than any other linebacker in the country. That's saying something considering he's leaving after his junior season. By running in the 4.5s, according to some stopwatches, at the Combine, Kuechly proved he's not just as the most instinctive linebacker in the draft, he's one of the most athletic.
