Also, I dont recall them announcing BSP as the replacement. And I remember hearing them boo the **** out of him on every 3rd and out and the INT.

They did.

Leinart came in and moved the ball down the field too. At this point, the Charger fans were starting to get loud and then Matt came on the field, got a near standing ovation and did what BSP wasn't able to do.

Meanwhile lets ignore what he's done for the past 6 years. Nothing.

;)

Wait a second![John Madden voice]

He did tell Todd Haley when to pull out the flea flicker against Philly last post season. That ought to be worth a million or so. ;)

I debunked that myth in this post, see last entry under 'edit to add'

Maybe I should start a Fitz cult to counteract some of the Warner cult energy.

Fitz never warms up, doesn't even stretch

Fitz never expects a pass thrown to him, yet he catches them all with one hand

Fitz wears no pads at all yet relishes going over the middle to pancake linebackers

Fitz is never surprised by the play calling( see next entry)

Fitz took over the play calling mid season for our incompetent O/C

Fitz taught Whiz how to breakdown film

Fitz tells the caterer what to serve in the cafeteria(whole grain bread, organic vegetables, no red meat, etc)

I could go on, but I would like some other cult devotees to add their insights into the god known to us all as Fitz

Edit to add...It was Fitz who really called the flea flicker, he just let it leak out it was BSP because of his unconditional love for the 'great unwashed'

BSP is also prone to injury. He sat out today's practice due to a back injury. Figures, as his ass was getting lit up the last two weeks.

Practice Squad Eligibility

According to league policy, only certain types of players are allowed to sign to the practice squad. Players cannot have played more than nine regular season games or been on the active roster for an entire year, nor can players be allowed to spend more than two seasons on the same team's squad unless that team's active roster never dips below 53 players.

Does BSP qualify for PS?

This is unconfirmed, but I heard that BSP has 'Pictures' that Whiz doesn't wan't released.... ha

I truly can't explain why a coach who LOVES open-competition at all positions would make such an obvious point of defending a bad QB by throwing everyone else under the bus.

One last pet peeve about BSP... everytime I've seen an interview with him, he's talking about how he 'hopes he finally gets a real chance', big time pity party. Well, you got your chance against scrubs and you sucked... Adios BSP, enjoy KC (won't happen, but one can hope...).

The irony is...

...that BSP might be better suited to be a #1 or #2 QB than a #3.

Early in games (when there's less predictable play-calling and a better run-to-pass mix), there's less pressure on the QB; especially on 1st & 2nd downs. When he has the time to get set, go thru his progressions and then zing it, BSP looks pretty decent.

But where he gets into trouble is when he has to come from behind, with the defense pinning its ears back and "storming the Bastille" - he's not very mobile and takes a critical half-second too long to make a decision and pull the trigger. Plus, when under pressure, he tends to eyeball his receiver.

Backup QB's are typically forced into game situations when their team is losing - not an ideal time for BSP. I think the more mobile and decisive Palko is better suited to come off the bench in relief and possibly flip the game.

But that doesn't mean BSP couldn't help some other team as a starter or replacement-starter.
