Yes. I wish we could find him but he's unknown.

I've done some research. CASEY PRINTERS former TCU, later Florida A&M. Took over the CFL last year (2004 Allstar). Unfortunately he is not now an unknown. CFL fans are worried that NFL is going to snap him up. 6 feet 3 inches. Had an injured thumb so wasn't drafted in 2003. Warren Moon is one of his advisors.

I live in Canada and watch a lot of CFL and right now threre are no NFL stars hiding here who can play QB. Printers is okay but he's a run first Qb still and he's not as quick or as Agile as Vick so he would get eaten alive in the NFL.

The CFL often has some great QBs, but the game is different enough that they don't always travel. It's not necessarily a matter of "worse," sometimes they just don't have the height, for example. Vets like Damon Allen and Anthony Calvillo have built good careers, but they're too old to try out for the NFL and probably too smart to try. Younger QBs are always interesting - I thought Ricky Ray was a possibility, but he didn't get anywhere, and probably should have stayed with Edmonton.

One problem is that the prototypical CFL QB is no longer of the Warren Moon mold. You don't see as many Pac-10 type gunslingers starting up north.

I'm inclined to say that Casey Printer's is the most likely to develop all of the skills needed to succeed south of the border. It may take a few years, but I like what I've seen so far. It's a "run-and-shoot" game up here, so it's hard to tell whether a star in this game can develop the pocket passing ability required in the NFL.

If I were a scout working for an NFL team, I'd be more inclined to look up here for gems at wide receiver, defensive back and kick return. There are some gifted players with these skill sets.

It's reported that Tim Cheatwood (Ohio State) - a pass rushing specialist with the Hamilton Tiger Cats - has signed with the Texans.

GRIZZLE LEE BAYER - DT Kodiak Jr. College, 7-3 815 lbs
Has the size you're looking for in a defensive tackle. Aggressive. One scout calls him a "hungry" kinda guy (particularly when salmon are running). Figures to perform best in cold-weather NFL cities in Nov - Dec. Plays faster than he looks. Raw talent. Lacks major college experience. Tends to play high, but can charge with low pad level when on all fours. Has a great claw-move. A few off-the-field problems (rumored to be connected with the mysterious disappearance of nearby wildlife). Only apparent weakness is his fondness for gnawing on his opponents in pile ups. Opposing blockers are cautioned not to try cut-blocking him...

Hmmmm, are you sure he isn't related to Eric Swann?

I had heard quite the opposite. He starts off like an animal in the fall but then tends to go to sleep in the latter part of the season.
