Ohno avoids crashes, makes final in 500 (AP)

Apolo Anton Ohno has advanced to the final of 500-meter short track speedskating, avoiding crashes in both of his heats. Ohno won his semifinal heat Friday night, taking the lead with a half-lap to go in the 4 1/2 -lap race. Canada's Francois-Louis Tremblay also advanced. With two laps remaining, South Korean Lee Ho-suk lost his balance coming off the turn and went down.
