Right - that's the phenomenon that I was talking about.

Same experience that I had with Hawks fans. The whole "they dissed us like yinz dissed us", but the Steelers aren't the Falcons or Panthers or Eagles.

yeah, and what was your experience like with Jags fan last year? Or every other year other than your Cardinals like run to the Super Bowl in 2006, you know, when your habitually underachieving team would choke at home in the Conference Title Game? Look, to be honest, for all the bluster of Steeler fan, you've dominated the league for over 17 years... and have ONE title to show for it. You're the freaking Atlanta Braves and on Sunday, that will only become more apparent.

i also seem to remember this same song and dance from Pittsburg fans last year prior to playing us. They were the big bad Steelers and we didn't stand a chance... and then we went out and kicked their ass.

SSDD.

I don't know where yinz is getting the stats, but that "solid" rushing offense was ranked 23rd in the league while our "bland" rushing D was ranked 16th in the league.

And the Steelers "solid" rushing offense during the playoffs is ranked right behind our rushing offense...that's right, behind our "one faceted pass happy offense."

Perhaps dude needs a refresh of the ol' stat book.

You still haven't quite got it. It isn't about being dissed [well it is a bit], its that Steelers fans, analysts etc all say the same about this game as they did those three

We know the Steelers aren't those other teams, they are better, hence why they are in the Superbowl.

The point is the same argument also works for the Cardinals. Most this this will be a walkover for the Steelers, just as before with the others. I strongly doubt it will be.

a bland rushing D

a one-faceted pass happy offense.

last i checked our bland rushing D held 12 opponents to a TOTAL of LESS than 90 yards rushing.

our one-faceted pass happy offense somehow stumbled our way to 115 yards rushing, ON AVERAGE, over the past 4 games.

you can continue to discount trends all you want, but you're really just proving and more and more to be ostrich. or maybe in your vernacular, an ostryinz.

East coast bias.

Nah, I'm just being a ******.

Maybe not. The NFC compared to the AFC isn't all that tough. Yeah, the Giants won last year, but any unbiased observer would expect the Pats to win that game 9 out of 10 times.

Just my opinion.

Just look at who were the contenders in the NFC and who were the contenders in the AFC.

Colts, Ravens, Pats (didn't make the playoffs though), Steelers, tits - any one of these teams could beat the NFC rep in the SB.

My humble opinion though.

Hawks fans had the same reaction that you're having right now after I posted a similar thread there a few years ago. Aside from the Giants getting lucky last year, it's the AFC's game. NFC teams are coming around though the Hawks are letting yinz down.

whoa, whoa, whoa donald . . . he keeps saying you cannot cherry pick which parts of the season you want to talk about, you have to view the entire season, so what you're saying . . . wait, that doesn't work for him with your stats, does it? so i'm sure the next thing he'll say is that willie was injured. but wait, is that making an excuse? so we can do that? we can figure out the "why's" of certain things? but we have to look at the entire season! we have to! yinz not playing fair!

Right - and that same defense gave up how many 30, 40, 50+ point games this year?

And how many games did our offense win this year?

The Patriots didn't even win their division iirc. Seems like somebody beat the actual division winner this year ?

Though to be honest I'm simply waiting for that line from the media. If we lose [as you expect] that will be their line. "The Cardinals still suck and the NFC really isn't as good as the AFC right now. Thats the only reason they made it to the Superbowl"

I don't buy it at all, as for the cheating Patriots, they can miss the playoffs for the next 200 yes as far as I am concerned. A just reward for head coach sponsored cheating.

Here's all you need to know about Pittsburghese.

Yinz = you (pl)
Jaggoff = jerk (me)
Pop = soda
Jumbo = baloney
Gum band = rubber band
an'at = and that
SBXLIII = one for the other thumb

Congrats, you're a yinzer.

Oh man, don't get me started on the cheats.

This might be SB # 9 for us if not for their cheating.

So what, it isn't doing it NOW and how many of those games where after it didn't matter to us. We are well aware the Cardinals took their foot of the gas in the last part of the season as is Wiz and he got real pissed about it after the Patriots game.

Fortunately he had enough time to fix it

Trends, Nidan - trends.

3 games doesn't a trend make.

15 games is a better population to derive a trend from.

Unless you have some factor as to why your defense gave up those kinds of points like injuries - it's a valid stat.

lol or the Rams or .....

Its a little arrogant to assume you would have won all of those don't you think ?

I didn't say win, just #9.

It's all speculation though. The cheats are probably our second most hated rivalry so forgive me if I'm showing my bias.

the Colts? Those perptually playoff choking dogs who couldn't even beat that pathetic Chargers team. And talk about one dimensional... or how how about those Ravens? Yeah, they've got many dimensions to that team. Or how about your #1 seed? The freaking Titans who EVERYONE knew was going to lose in the first round. Kerry Collins, Joe Flacco and a guy who had never even taken a snap in college were the QBs of the best teams in the AFC. And the Pats? That team couldn't beat anyone with a pulse all year (including that pulse-less Cards team that just flat out didn't show up in NE) and they were led by a QB who hadn't even taken a snap in what? 7 years? Give me a break.

Sorry man, but the NFC was every bit as tough as the AFC this year and was actually better than the AFC was last year (regardless of the Super Bowl).

Besides, we're not playing the Pats, we're playing the Braves... er... the Steelers. The team that wrote the book on playoff futility in the last 20 years who will only add to that record next Sunday.

How many rings do the Colts have?

The next question should be obvious.

oh my lord. and you said were giving the business to Seahag fans... the same people who think their Super Bowl win was stolen from them? that's pathetic. But I guess reading the above I could surmise that you really don't deserve that Super Bowl trophy seeing as how it was stolen from the Hags and all, right?

y'all let guys like Frank Reich and Drew Bledsoe come into Three Rivers and Heinz Field and beat your ass like a drum. You're playoff pretenders who caught the Hags playing their worst football of the year and stumbled into a title. Enjoy that penalty flagged marred Super Bowl win cause it's the only one you're gonna get.

they're 2nd only to the Steelers in playoff underachievers over the last 2 decades (with the Eagles obviously coming in third).

don't worry, for all our patheticness over the last 18 years, after next week, we'll have the same number as you during that span.

Underachievers?

Dude - we're there, consistently.

You don't get to 5 SB wins, 7 SB appearances by underachieving.

C'mon man - step it up.
