I watched a tad of the Jets /'Phins game and I think we can get after Pendertinington or whoever he is.

Agreed. The key to stopping Miami will be to expose their soft and inexperienced O Line. This is how the Jets did it and I'm sure it's how the rest of the league will attack them. Williams and Brown showed, though, that if they are able to find a crack they can exploit the running game...and Pennington, if given time, can complete a lot of short-intermediate passes.

Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown are the kind of Backs we ought to be able to contain. I think if Miami is going to beat anyone this year it's going to be through a grind-it-out running game and controlling the clock.

The Cards need to score early and often to get them out of that offensive mindset. They won't be able to play catchup football very effectively, but if they're allowed to hang around and be in it at the end they could steal some games (as almost happened to the Jets).

Keys of the game:

Ride the momentum after a big road/division win

Do not take them for granted

Leave a 20 sack on R. Williams pillow in his hotel room

The Cardinals SERIOUSLY need to watch the film on Davone Bess. He is the Devin Hester of MIA. He returns kicks and punts and lines up as WR (his pos) from time to time. He is super fast and pretty elusive.

I wouldnt sleep on this guy at all.

This is all I know about these guys:

- They're a Parcells team (which means they may not be flashy but they'll thump you).

- As a ball-handler/ball faker, Pennington belongs in the same league with Boomer Esiason and Steve DeBerg (so we have to be ready for that).

- Ricky Williams and Ron Brown are a good RB tandem.

- Their O-line is suspect.

- They no longer have Jason Taylor.

Funny thing but in most games we play, what will determine whether we get a "W" or "L" will be pretty much up to us. We stack up against most NFL teams in terms of talent, but what won it for us vs. the Niners was our solid (free from many mistakes) play in the 2H. If we can make this part of the Cardinals' DNA we will win most of our games this year - including the one against Miami.

But if we dont....

Also, watch out for Fasano in the red zone. Pennington loves him some TE in the endzone.

I was watching the 2nd half of their game yesterday when I got home before our game.

the main thing that stood out is Pennington's completely lost his fastball he never had a strong arm but those shoulder injuries have done in his arm. He's still very accurate with great touch but he can't fire the ball at all.

He kept trying to go after Jets rookie Dwight Lowery at CB(San Jose State) starting for injured Justin Miller but Lowery made play after play, really had a great game for a rookie CB.

I also noted the Dolphin crowd booing Ted Ginn JR. not sure what he did or said that ticked them off but everytime he got near the ball he got booed, even when he caught one they booed. Maybe they're expecting more from him the announcers said he's still very much a project maybe the fans expect more now or something.

They are one of those teams that won't just beat themselves for all the Favre hype they were in this game and would have won if Pennington had a stronger arm he had guys open that he couldn't get the ball too late.

Pennington's arm strength makes Matt Leinart look like John Elway. We should be able to contain Miami fairly easily, IMO.

Pennington simply loves him some TE all over the field. He went to Fasano a lot against the Jets. 8 for 84 yds & Martin had 4 for 53 yds.

As Jeff stated he has excellent ball handiling skills. He is incredibly accurate and knows what to do the the FB in and out of the pocket. If he had the arm strength of let's say even Warner he would be a top NFL QB.

good god have we learned nothing from the decades of futility? The cardinals are in no position to think they can "contain someone fairly easily".

If im whiz....I put up a picture of pennington on the locker room walls for the defense to throw darts at. If the cards are as good as they think they are then they need to play hard, tough, smart football and hopefully the phins will beat themselves. But losing this game is very possible. The defense played animalistic on sunday....keep that up and we might be ok this season. But for goodness sake, go into every game pretending its your last. NEVER assume a win can be had easily

Definitely agree if we defend Miami the way we defended SF their TE's will have over 200 yards. We need to tighten up the middle but I'm sure we will I suspect that was a SF thing where they felt they wanted to bring heat up the middle to rattle TJ and were willing to give up some plays to Vernon Davis to do it. They know Pennington won't get rattled as easily so they'll change up.

I hope so. Plus if we get Branch and Watson some snaps maybe we won't have to over commit to stopping the run up the middle. The Dolphins WR's don't scare me much so some coverages that put more defenders in the middle of the field should help.

R. Williams didn't have good ball security against the Jets so hopefully a couple of fumbles from him will help the cause.

Miami is bad, they just don't know it yet. That makes them dangerous.

What needs to happen.

Our defense needs to come out and stick it to them early. Let them learn early on that if they catch or run the ball they are going to get hit really hard.

Our offense needs to come out and put up some early scores. That will make their offense one dimensional. Pennington is not the type of QB you want if you fall behind by more than 2 scores.

Fans need to show the Fish that the Nest isn't a fun place for opposing teams to play. I want at least 3 false starts due to fan noise!
