Ok we now must beat Cleveland and Seattle! We can and to be honest the SF game in the whole scheme of things probably won't matter. We must win 9 games. I don't care how we get those 9 we just have t do it. Yesterday was a horrible loss but if our team can rally like they did after the Tampa Bay game, we can beat Cleveland. Remember Detroit was 6-2 and had won 3 straight games. They also struggle on the road, just like Cleveland. Cleveland gives up big plays and is young. If you have noticed we are a 1 point favorite again. Just like Detroit.

Seattle plays a very tough Philly team in Philly. Seattle very well could lose that game. If they do and we beat Clevleland we control our own destiny.

The Redskins, Lions, Eagles, and even the Giants all play some tough games. So 9-7 will probably get both Wild Card teams in. Maybe 8-8 when you look at the schedule. Giants still have the Patriots and a few NFC East teams...so they are not guaranteed 9 wins. Lions still have a brutal schedule and with their history 8-8 looks possible. If we get to 9 wins I see us making it somehow...How we do it....I don't care. So next week is the beginning of our Playoffs. We can win! Just think if we win 9 games this year.....that would be amazing....since we would have lost to the 2nd worst team in football twice!

I appreciate your enthusiasm but after yesterday I don't see us beating Seattle and that loss will finish us off. Yesterday was a must win and we blew it in spectacular fashion. I not only don't see us going to the playoffs, I really don't believe we deserve to.

I agree with everything above.

I would like to add. Yes, yesterday is over, and the season with it.

You have to understand that since the season is over as well we have a whole 11 games to lament , rant, rave, scream, yell, and cry over.

It is another nine months of Cardinals B.S. to get through until we have any hope again.

It is a bad situation that we are in annually so the dissappointment of the 2007 season being over is going to have this board and its fans PO'd for at least a couple of days.

Hey, at least it took us until the end of November, instead of the beginning of it, until we were out of contention.

Agreed. I also thought this about the game yesterday that if we had won it, we didn't deserve to.

I shouldn't be, but I'm still amazed at some of these posts where people attempt to diminish a loss like yesterday... I don't know if it simply pure blind optimism or pure ignorance...

Here are some undeniable rules for the NFL:

1.) Good teams (not to mention playoff teams) do not lose the sort of game we lost yesterday.

2.) Teams that lose games like the one we lost yesterday, are not good teams and do not get mentioned in the same breath with the word - playoffs...

Additionally, we are at best a 6-7 win team... We have zero depth, a one-armed 36 year old QB, no running game, no pass defense, poor coaching, a high-schooler for a punter and a kicker who is most likely now ready for the rubber room...

I honestly don't know what will happen in each individual game for the rest of this season. All I know is that this team will find a way to come up short of the playoffs - again... That might mean we kick butt next week against the Browns and lose the rest of our games, or something in between...
I'll still be there in my friggin season seats - but I will admit that the pure glee and shear loudness factor will be scaled back some from this point forward.
They are my team and I'll support them. But I will not continue to invest myself into this team the way I have in the past. Nope...
It's all about one thing now...Playoffs... Period... We had a shot to take a major step in that direction yesterday, and true to form - we blew it...

Now, let's work on that draft position Cards!

1)lets shoot down the first comment. Good teams(playoff teams) dont lose to bad teams. Pittsburgh lost the Jets last week who were 1-9!!! Tennessee lost to the Bengals who we beat rather easily 35-6!!! And they were the toast of the AFC about 2 weeks ago behind the Pats and Colts. So it happens.

2)I do not let bad losses just slide by....But the fact is...crying about it won't make Rackers FG go through. So we must move on. Pull up the boot straps and suck it up. If we beat Cleveland and Seattle loses we are right back where we need to be!! And if we do make the playoffs...we will play to the level of our competition and may win. And just think...We could make the playoffs after losing to the worst team in football...TWICE!

Sadly I agree.

I've scaled back my caring, I still care, always will but I will not get emotionally involved in this tradition anymore. I might even.... gasp... cancel my NFL Direct TV package.

I'm drawing a line in the sand, I'm not standing for this crap anymore, I can watch the game on game channel with the little fake football.

Do they have graphics that can do Cardinal miscues justice?

Do they have icons consisting of a large group of monkeys who are overly friendly?

Maybe they will get some, me I will still care I just insist on some people losing their jobs and more importantly being replaced by actual competent folks before I invest my time again.

Being a long time Cardinal fan, let me tell you how this will all play out.

Next week, miraculously, we clobber the Browns and the Eagles crush the Seahawks.
We are then back in the same situation we were in going into Sunday.

Now here is where it gets to play out like a DVD with multiple endings where you get to chose how the movie ends.

First ending. We go into Seattle and clobber the Seahawks into submission as we move into first place.

Second ending. We go into Seattle with a chance to move into first place only to get kicked square in the groin. A game winning FG attempt by Rackers hits the left upright ,crossbar , right upright, and comes to rest on the crossbar. Only 45% of the ball is officially thru the plane of the crossbar and after a 15 minute discussion it is ruled no good. Suicide rates jump 14% in Arizona following the loss.

Bottom line is we still have a fighting chance. It's just that after every loss we realize that remaining games become must wins with no margin of error. Understandably, losing to the 49ers twice drastically diminishes the fans confidence in the ability of this team.

Unless of coarse you are 82CardsGrad who has given up all hope at any chance we have and will look to have anybody who may still cling to hope, legally commited to the nearest psych ward.

The sun came up this morning as usual and I'm over it. Being a realist, the Cards are not going to perform miracles and make the playoffs. They most likely will win 2 more games and finish 7 - 9 which is an improvement over the Denny years. That is the real bottom line. Nothing more, nothing less. :|

The Valley so low.
Yes. I predicted 9-7, but 7-9 or worse was pretty frequent on this board, and if I'd known we would lose our QB and Levi Brown, I would have forecast something like that. I would not have predicted the miserable, idiotic losses, but they're better than being out of the game after the first quarter--I guess. Whiz is a newbie--he deserves more slack than Denny. Even though he's an idiot.
