The Oklahoma Sooners are trending to add another blue chip prospect to their 2026 recruiting class, and it's a familiar name. Four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who was once an Oklahoma Sooners commit, is now trending back toward the Oklahoma Sooners, according to several Rivals FutureCasts that were issued on Sunday night.
No long after Hatton announced that he'd be making the decision on his college football future, Sam Spiegleman of Rivals and Parker Thune and Brandon Drumm of OUInsider and Rivals each issued FutureCasts favoring the Sooners in Hatton's recruitment.
Hatton was originally the first commitment of the 2026 cycle for the Sooners when he pledged to OU back in October of 2023. However, amid Oklahoma's struggles in year one of the SEC, Hatton decommitted from the Sooners and reopened his recruitment. He's being heavily pursued by the heavy hitters in collegiate recruiting like Alabama, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Tennessee, and holds a total of 29 Power Four offers.
With the FutureCasts coming less than a week out from his decision date, it appears Hatton and the Oklahoma Sooners have rekindled the relationship that made Hatton a priority and led to his commitment in the first place. He's a consensus four-star prospect and is a top-10 running back in the 2026 recruiting cycle. On3 and ESPN consider Hatton a top-75 prospect in the nation and a top-five running back in the class.
Here's hoping Oklahoma can lock up Hatton's commitment once more.
