STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State men’s basketball season isn’t over after all.
The Cowboys were selected as a No. 4 seed for the 32-team National Invitation Tournament and will host Wichita State at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
OSU was eliminated from the Big 12 Tournament with an 87-68 loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
After the game, first-year Cowboy coach Steve Lutz said he’d welcome a postseason bid of any kind.
“I think these guys deserve it,” he said. “If we can play postseason and have an opportunity to continue to fight for a championship, these guys deserve it. They've given a lot all year long and have set the culture for the future.
“We need to reward them if at all possible.”
