It is a crying shame the Sooners and miami haven't met up since Stoops has been HC. It would be an interesting game for sure. I guess the 'Canes are too smart to make that scheduling gamble Wally!!!:D

Now admit it. The Okies are scared spitless to schedule non conference opponents on the road and in the top 100. Name the last one.

Speaks volumes for spending that extra year in college.

Allow me to clarify, compared to me, Rumph is a world class sprinter, compared to most good CB's in the NFL, he's slow. That 40 time moved him UP the draft, he was a 2nd rounder before he ran that. On draft day the 49ers were criticized for picking him and openly defended the pick by saying look at his 40 time he's not as slow as you think. AS a rookie he was basically a nickel back, I wouldn't call that thrown to the wolves, officially he started one game all year as a rookie. He only started last year because of injuries to Webster.

He has shown a "nose for the ball" but he's also shown repeatedly he can't stay with quick or fast WR's.

Prior to running that time he was listed at 4.47 per NFL.com and a 2nd rounder, they said he could run with WR's downfield but needed an extra step in recovery. More known for press defense because of his size.

If you live in the bay area you would think Slow was his middle name that's all they ever talk about with Rumph, I thought he had a reasonable year this year but Buchanon is MUCH quicker and faster so the 40 times just don't wash with reality.

I can't wait for the next Sooner vs. cocaines meeting. It will be another glorious victory for Stoops troops!

Guys, we could do worse than to go Harris, then Strait with our first two picks.

But, I don't want to sound like a homer.

Yeah Crimson Warrior is correct Wally, Alabama at Tuscaloosa last year. OU won 21-13 i think. Tide played 'em tough too. Sooners also played Notre Dame at South Bend in 1998. Thanks for making me do all this research too Wally!!!:D :) :D

Stop with the Alabama game. The elephants blow and the Okies squeeked it out 20-13 at home. Next irrelevant example please.

Yeah wrong year indeed Wally, Oct 2, 1999 OU at Southbend. Don't know who won. I sit corrected.:D

Now, now, now Wally, I know you don't want to fall into the trap of comparing the Big 12 to that perrenial football powerhouse Big East conference or the ACC or whichever conference miami is in this week, now do ya?:D

Also, are you saying that the Crimson Tide is not in the top 100 NCAA football teams?
If it makes you feel any better I anticipate that the mighty Sooners will travel to Westwood, Ca. and play UCLA year, although I have been unable to confirm that thus far.

In the K-State game, James Terry DID have the 1 63-yd TD, but other than that he had 1 catch for 0 yd. Versus LSU, Clayton and Henderson had a combined 6 catches for 62 yds and 0 TD's. If memory serves, didn't Strait catch the LSU RB from behind on the first play where he broke free? Remember too, R. Woods (OSU) and the vaunted Texas receiving corps did next to nothing this year against Strait and OU. Strait is a FOOTBALL PLAYER and the Cards would be very happy with him at CB.

Go Cards!
Last year Rashaun Woods TORCHED Strait. I'm not sold on this guy,he's decent but not 1st round.

An aggie; no wonder then.

I'm sure your opinion of wood's performance against strait is unbiased.

Just for the record guys, our aggies have this huge chip on their shoulder, kind of like a big brother little brother thing.

WRONG! I'm a little bit of a homer, but I try to "keep it real" about sooner players when I'm on this board. I havn't been hyping Harris much at all, even though we need a DT!

As far as Woods and Strait two years ago, Strait may have been beaten a couple of times. But Woods is a pretty special talent himself. That talent didn't help woods and the aggies in 03' however as they took on the chin 56-10!

Let me repeat: 56-10. Thats about a SEVEN TOUCHDOWN woodshed beating. And go tell your aggie buddies about B ball because its just not that big of a deal to me.

I've wondered why A & M schools aren't nicknamed " Mechanics or grease monkeys " instead of Aggies. Since A & M stands for Agriculture and Mechanical. Correct me if I am wrong about this. It would seem to be just as appropriate. If this becomes the trend I would expect royalties for the concept.

A couple times, hahahahahah! That is hilarious, 38-28 was not indicative of that game,Miles called the dogs off and it very well could have been 76-10 the way that was going. I like Harris but I don't think he's worthy of a # 3. I'll bet you'd be spouting off about BB if the positions were reversed. Anyway, it's a new year and we'll see what happens, Enjoy the NIT!!!!
