This is just on paper, strictly base packages, and my best guess:

Starters:

QB: Murray

RB: Johnson

WR1: Kirk
WR2: Fitzgerald
WR3: White

TE: Clay

LT: Humphries
LG: Sweezy
OC: Cole
RG: Pugh
RT: Gillbert

DT: Gunter
DT: Peters
DT: Philon

OLB: Jones
OLB: Suggs

ILB: Hicks
ILB: Reddick

CB: Peterson
CB: Alford

FS: Baker
SS: Swearinger

Backups:

QB: Hundley

RB: Edmonds

WR1: Isabella
WR2: Butler
WR3: Cooper

TE: Seals-Jones

LT: Cunningham
LG: Garcia
OC: ??
RG: ??
RT: ??

DT: Nkemdiche
DT: ???
DT: Allen

OLB: Reed
OLB: ???

ILB: ???
ILB: ???

CB: Murphy
CB: ???

FS: Thompson
SS: Ford

I would say there are 8 key spots for backups that are wide open.

You counted Butler twice at WR

He is big enough to be counted twice.......let me see where I screwed up.

Edit:

Thought I changed that in the "Starters" list to Kevin White.

This team will probably have six receivers:

1. Fitzgerald
2. Kirk
3. Kevin White*
4. Isabella
5. Butler
6. <--- Big time competition here.

* Kevin White has a lot of pressure to make a roster spot.

I think they carry 7 WRs and 3 TEs. Keesean Johnson is probably #6 with Cooper the favorite for #7 going in to camp.

Yup. It's a WR heavy offense. I can see them wanting as many bodies as possible in the room to see who rises to the top.

The fun of this off-season will be seeing unknown guys come out of nowhere to grab starting jobs.

There are a few positions which profile: "10 - 15 guys fighting for 5 starting spots." These positions include: OL, WR and DB.

For example, we might see Alford, Brock and Murphy as leading contenders to fill the CB2 role opposite Peterson. And who knows whether there are other candidates who might join this exalted group.

White will be lucky to make the roster, I don't see how he can be penciled in as a starter over any of the rookie draft picks.
Absolutely. Unless he just kills it in preseason he’s wayyyyy down the depth chart! I can’t see him making this roster

If White is starting week 1 it will be a huge shock imo

Gaillard seems like a lock for an interior line backup spot....Miles maybe practice squad material.

Wilson looks like a backup TE.

Turner had moments last year at ILB.

Dogbe makes it as backup or practice squad on the DL.

OLB needs help from somewhere.

Have they seen White during offseason work outs yet? They can probably already tell whether injuries have zapped his explosiveness. Injuries aside something else is going on there to have such pathetic numbers. If I recall he was a healthy scratch last year for half the season.

I think Oline is a big concern.
Pugh has missed 17 out of 32 games over the last two seasons.
Humphries has missed 18 out of 32 games over the last two seasons.
Gilbert has missed 20 out of 32 games over the last two seasons.
Sweezy is average at best.
Shipley is old and coming off a major injury.
Garcia lost is starting job in Denver and then tore his ACL.

The Oline is still a mess. I don't care if Murray is captain america it's not going to make any difference if there is no one to block. Maybe this is why I'm not feeling it. The one area on this team that needed attention more than any other is being ignored again. The Oline is still a mess.

Pugh and Humphries doesnt bring much to the table, their level of play is easy replacable
Pugh especially is one of the worst guard in the nfl

Gilbert is the best and if he plays he makes our line much better

I hope Cunningham improved his technique and get the starter role

I expect big progress by Cole and hope he put some muscle on to gain strenght, cause rarely I saw him pushing back a defensive lineman

Sweezy is not great but he is a nasty one, so can be an adequate starter

Lamont Gilliard has a chance to start, and I don't know if is a good thing

I think there’s zero chance we keep 3 TE. It will be 2 and one on the PS. We will almost never run a 2 TE set as well.

Rugby, thanks. Cole must improve his 'shotgun' snaps to beat out Shipley, if Shipley makes the team. Though Cole is younger and cheaper. IMO.

Rugby, could you take a shot at the starters in the KK offense, i.e., we start four WR's? I assume we won't have a FB in the KK offense.

I dont think white makes the team.

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t. This team is going to Carry 7 guaranteed.... with the three draft picks Fitz and Kirk.... that’s 5 leaves 2 spots and he is 100% more physically gifted then the other players as a WR. If he can stay healthy he makes the team IMO. With one spot for a special teams guru.
