Seattle's defense was saying Teddy looked confused and scared, and they run the simplest defense in the world! They don't count on scheme, the count on talent.

The game plan is the same as it was for the Rams. Bottle up Peterson and make the QB beat us.

this is a dumb cliche for journalists/by journalists.

the entire league is talent or they dont get hired.

if they actually ran asimple defense relying on their players, they would be torched like a playground team.

they Didnt contain Peterson because he hardly got the ball.

they only beat a defense who lost 3 players unexpectedly.

the Cardinals are coming off a short week too and these games go one way quickly

So we are 7.5 point favorites going in to Thursday.

Statistical rankings...
Arizona
Points Scored First
Passing Offense Third
Rushing Offense Eighth
Points Allowed Fourth
Passing Defense Eighth
Rushing Defense Fourth

Minnesota
Points Scored Twenty-Eighth
Passing Offense Thirty-First
Rushing Offense Fifth
Points Allowed Fourth
Passing Defense Sixth
Rushing Defense Twenty-Second

Bridgewater has only 8 passing TDs on the season in 347 attempts. He actually plays better on the road than at home. He is 2-0 in dome games. He hasn't thrown a TD in 3 games against the NFC West (3 INTs).

If this team even slows down Peterson and doesn't give up any big plays on the ground and the game ends up in Bridgewaters hands we win rather easily. If we jump out to an early lead and force them to play catch up, we win. Their offense isn't even close to as good as ours and couldn't win a shootout. However if we start out like we did against the Rams at home (turnovers, mistakes) it will be a long night because their pass defense is pretty good and their team has surrendered the same exact amount of points as the Cardinals have.

I read Barr, Joseph and Smith. Maybe more by game time. Yeah, that's huge.

Cardinals 31, Vikings 20: Last week's face-plant against Seattle carried the weight of three losses, exposing fatal flaws and razor-thin margins. The defense is too banged up to slow down the high-flying Cardinals in a tight turnaround.

TOM POWERS

Cardinals 31, Vikings 14: Sometimes, schedule dictates that you must play against a really good team. Fortunately for the Vikings, that hasn't been very often in 2015. But this is one of those weeks. Vikings are banged up, too. Would-be viewers are advised to try to find a Christmas party instead.

FRAN TARKENTON

Cardinals 24, Vikings 10: My heart is with the Vikings, but the Cardinals are playing too well right now and the Vikings have too many injuries on defense. We'll hope for the best, but it's going to be an uphill battle this week.

CHRIS TOMASSON

Cardinals 23, Vikings 13: The last time the Vikings played on Thursday night, they were drubbed 42-10 at Green Bay in October 2014. The Vikings have plenty of injuries, but at least not having Christian Ponder around will help them spare further Thursday embarrassment.

CHARLEY WALTERS

Cardinals 27, Vikings 17: Minnesota's loss to Seattle revealed what the Vikings really are: slightly better than average. Arizona is much better than average. Minneapolis' Larry Fitzgerald and St. Paul's Michael Floyd will be too much to handle for the Vikings

For those who are thinking , but we might have a letdown game , we recently had the letdown game against the 49ers . I know we won , but trust me , that was a letdown game.

Daily Norseman has the best, funniest article on the game I have read. Makes you almost feel sorry for the Vikings this week.

That's basically how things are going this week for the Minnesota Vikings. They're experiencing the football equivalent of Michael Douglas' day in Falling Down.

When the Vikings begin their death march into the desert on Thursday night to take on the Arizona Cardinals, they'll be doing it without their best defender on all three levels of the defense.

Carson Palmer is a year and a half older than I am. I can barely finish a rec league soccer game these days, so I'm sure you can understand my amazement at Palmer's incredible renaissance.
