I know most everyone on this board will disagree with this, but noone got in Fortson's face when he committed the flagrant against Zarko, and that's just weak! I have been watching basketball since the Bill Russel/Wilt CHamberlain days. In the old days every team had an enforcer. Someone opposing teams hated to see come into the game. Guaranteed, a shot like that on Zarko in the old days would not have gone unheeded. They also used to exact vengance better in the old days, too. The team and player wronged wouldn't do anything that game or the next, that may hurt his team and when officials would be looking for it. Sometimes because of playoff contention, revenge, or justice as it was called, was given in the following season. They had a good segment on this on classic sports. I was disappointed not one guy on the floor went over to Fortson and had Zarko's back. This was probably due to the officials hustling off Fortson very fast. I do have to commend them for making the immediate call and taking action without having to conference while letting the action get out of hand.

Next time we play the Mavs, sign Barkley for a ten day contract just to kick Fortson's butt all over the arena. :D

Barkley? I don't think he could kick his own butt. ;)

And I will disagree about someone going after Forston. No one had a chance. I think that's the fastest I've ever seen anybody ushered off the floor. He was down the tunnel before anybody knew what happened. He was probably one of the most willing ejectees ever and should thank the refs for his safety.

I was at the game and Jahadi White most definitely tried to get up. As soon as the foul was committed he walked towards the scorers table to check in. It looked as if Frank had told him to check in right then. However, the official got Fortson out of the arena so fast that White never got a chance to check in. Frnak then placed him back on the sidelines.

I am 100% sure that White was being put back in for retaliation, but when Forston was removed there was no longer a need.

Fortson would have killed any other of the players that were on the court at the time.

i think that marbury would have done something really dritty if given half a chance. last year during the playoffs after he got hurt do you remember he running by duncan and elbowing him in his shooting arm? they even showed that on a replay and talked about it. there was no foul but it did my heart good to see it marbury was trying to take duncan out just the way they had taken him out.

I'm not all that excited about guys getting into fights. It is too easy to lose someone else from an injury to the hand after hitting someone in the jaw. (We've had enough hand injuries this year, thank you).

None the less, the NBA is awfully physical and the Suns need to be able to stand up to bullys like Fortson or it is all over.

There was a small blurb in one of the articles on AZCentral today where Frank Johnson was saying that it his day there would have been a fight after that play. However he also pointed out that most it would have resulted in getting kicked out of the game and a $500 fine. Today it's a five-day suspension and a $10,000 fine. He said it's not the money that hurts as much as the suspension.

Defending yourself gets you a five day suspension, but trying to kill someone going for a layup gets only 3?
