In this thread we only post positive things about the Cards: (to help us keep our sanity):

1. Matt Leinart is very freakin' good.

2. The Cards receivers are studs.

3. Most of our cheerleaders are very pretty.

4. The new stadium, is very neat, even though it has a dumb name.

5. The weather for the game was very nice and will be the rest of the season.

6. Our defense looked fantastic.

7. Edge looked good early (before the overweight Olineman ran out of energy to block for him).

8. We have two winnable road games coming up before the bye week.

Ok, now its your turn....seriously lets think happy thoughts in this thread. Really, you don't even have to limit it to the Cardinals:

9. We have some cool cacti here, Im sure other teams our jealous.

^see, things like that are acceptable to post too.

About Leinart...I was not a big fan of his at USC, or when we drafted him. I really thought he would be a huge disappointment. Now, however, I can see who this guy really is and what he is really made of. He is a special player! I see a bright future for this team...brighter than when we drafted Jake Plummer.

Plummer was/is a qb that was adept at bringing a team from behind in to try to win a game.

Leinart is a qb that's used to jumping on teams early and closing them out. I'll take that anyday! I think, in the long run, his mentality, approach and enthusiasm will lead this team to the promised land of "killer instinct". I think it will be easier for this team to turn the corner of learning how to play with a lead, rather than trying to comeback from a 3 td defecit, week after week. They just have to learn how to deliver the knockout blow...and it will come!

Regarding last night...I was just as brokenhearted as most of you on this board, but it wore off quickly because I truly believe this team now has a very bright future. I sat back and thought of the rough year that Peyton Manning had as a rookie...Threw all kinds of td's but his team only won 3 games...they had to learn how to play with a lead and win! Looking at the Colt's now, I see very similar parallel's with the Cards.

We have a bright, very bright future folks!

The positives were numerous.

Leinart is freaking great, and going to get better. Missed some throws, had some batted down, but he just sees the field so well for a rookie. Yeah he could have audibled out of some runs but I think the staff was afraid of the Ty Law pick last week especially when Tillman nearly picked one on a hot read due to protection issues. We have a franchise QB folks.

The OL actually pass blocked well for much of this game and then just totally fell off at the end, so much for OL wearing out DL.

As bad as the stupid spike of the ball was this was EASILY JJ Arrington's best game in the NFL. Think about it EVERY time he touched the ball last night he did something positive, and the first man NEVER got him down, either made him miss or broke the tackle, even had a stiff arm. That one draw play he was one trip of the ankle from scoring on that play, much quicker through the hole than Edge is now. But man was that spike dumb 2 guys tripped him intentionally with no call but keep your composure.

Eric Green was terrific. Francisco was nice in coverage, even Griffith made a textbook pick. We even caught some breaks, obvious illegal contact on Rolle not called, Griffith had a clear spearing on a guy on the ground, flag goes down, I'm screaming at Griffith, but they call an illegal block instead.

I thought Watson was really impressive too, they couldn't move him.Berry played better. Wilson played his butt off, Hayes was all over the field. Dockett played well. I thought Cooper tipped the ball Dockett picked off, if so that's 3 deflections in 2 games for him off the bench.

Eric Green was a hitting machine. I was watching Maximum Cardinals and Q interviewed him.

His quote was something like,

"If you can be sure of one thing tonight, I am going to hit somebody." He hit about 5 somebodies and saved a 1st down with a jarring hit on more than one occasion.

This is the 2nd week in a row that Matt Leinart put us in a position to win.

our run D has been pretty good this season 'cept for the niners and a few plays against the falcons.

i think we win at least 6 more games this season. im not sure how, but i think its possible. i think next week the team is gonna be pissed as hell and put a spanking on the raiders like we've never seen here.

The future looks bright, but there always seem to be a pothole that we don't see.
Winning breeds confidence . Losing builds character. The next 2 games will define the direction of this team and current coaching staff. It would be easy right now to pull up spikes and call it a season.
There is no single reason we lost this game. It has never been more apparent to me that EVERY play could mean the difference of winning and losing.
I'm proud of the way we played, but it's just not good enough.
Kudos to Eric Green , the defense, the fans, Boldin, and Matt Leinart.

Friday Night Lights, The Titans, and ANY other football movie ever written could not possibly match last nights script.

Well, after the punt return for a TD I fully expected that the Bears would overwhelm our line, get a sack or two, maybe a pick. I did NOT think we would drive into position for an easy FG.

Matt Leinart is NAILS and this team believes in him. I said in response to someone in the Rose Bowl thread that he could have a wooden leg and he'd still make us better. But, even I didn't think he'd be THIS smooth.

Also, I'm proud as hell of our defense. They whipped the butts of the Bear offense. Hopefully, they'll realize how great they can be and finish the season strong.

20 good things:

1. We stuffed the run, again

2. Anquan

3. Matt Leinart, future Pro Bowl QB

4. We created 6 freakin' turnovers

5. We scored 2 TDs in the first Quarter against the league's best D

6. Bryant Johnson stepping up

7. Lienart actually having a reasonable amount of time to pass (save one play)

8. Zero first downs for Chicago in 1st Quarter

9. We finally won a replay challenge we called

10. Arrington fighting for extra yards

11. Zero points for Chicago's offense

12. Green jacking up receivers

13. Rolle's awesome open-field tackle on Thomas "is the phone for me" Jones

14. Berry's sack, strip and recovery

15. We've scored 2 1st Q TDs two consecutive weeks!

16. Francisco's insane return after his INT

17. Rowen showing some creativity in the first quarter (shotgun, etc.)

18. Solid pressure on Grossman all night

19. We get to blow up the Raiders next week - guaranteed!

20. Everyone being angry over this loss. See the change, be the change!

Did anyone mention that we will have a high draft pick next year? That can be seen as a positive.

Heres the deal:

Play the next two games with the same intensity and the Cards are 3-5 at the bye week, with two weeks to prepare for a home game against the Cowboys.

The last three home losses have been so beyond fluke-y that I am having a hard time comprehending it.

Thanks guys I really needed this thread.

My fave was:

DL- played equal to or better than the much hyped Chicago D-Line

Dockett- I always worry that a player plays poorly when given a big contract. Hopefully he will played as inspired as he did Monday. I love to see him fired up.

Russ, I noticed a third and short play where Garza and Olin tried to block Watson and both of them went back a yard and a half. He could be a beast.

Here's one I forgot- probably the most important:

No one, and I mean absolutely no one gave us any chance of winning this game. We were double digit dogs and we came out and handed them their @$$es. While it is disheartening that we could not seal the deal, previous Cardinals teams would have been rolled up by the end of the 1st quarter and just praying not to get hurt.

This team has promise and it certainly has heart. Get some damn OL that can run block and grow some balls in the play calling and we're there.

Da bears were nothing and we showed ithem they were nothing and scared them for 59mins and 7 seconds.

Matt, Green, Watson, the entire D, the receivers all of them were great.

For me a positive is, save the Seattle game, we have been in every other game this year. It wasn't too long ago that we lost by an average of 3+ td's a game, now we just need to learn to "seal the deal" and we'll start winning some games!!!!!!!!! We could easily be 4-2 right now........oh, yeah.........

More Leinart:

He now has 2 career starts. In both games he threw 2 TD passes in the 1st quarter. In both games he led a drive to put the team in position for a game winning or tying field goal. He is the real deal and then some.

All-Pro potential at QB, RB, and both WRs. Johnson is a good #3 WR. Pope will be fine at TE.

This offense has the skill position players to be--not just good--one of the best units in the league.

Keeping it positive, ownership can afford the high salaries of the other 5 players need on offense. :)

This year, we've scored more points in the first quarter than in the total of the 1st quarters from games from the last 27 years.

We score on our opening drive with regularity now.

That drive to me was the most impressive. The Bears had the lead, their D was in shut-down mode and Leinart still threw the ball effortlessly moving the team down the field. It was heroic. Alas, it was tragic heroism.

That's the thing--before the game their were crowning the Bears as DG said, and after the story was the Cardinals collapse. What this team showed in the first 3 Quarters may be overshadowed by what happened in the 4th, and that's a shame. They're so close to making that extra step.
