Anyone see this yet? Isnt playing in central PA :(

Supposedly based on a true story and filmed with the actors in the water with real sharks.

Supposed to be scarier than jaws.

Wish I could see it. Only an hour long tho

They are expecting some people to get sick in the theaters (like Blair Witch) when they see this because of the way it was filmed...handheld camera above/below the water at times.

Maybe the people in central PA just can't handle that sort of thing. :D

man it sounds scary. I hate being in open water.

I have heard mixed reviews. One person said it was the most boring movie they have other seen. The other said they want to see it again because it was so intense and scary. I just dont know, but im not gonna see it i will be afraid to go in the ocean :).

I saw a preview for it before Spiderman and I almost peed my pants! Talk about combining two of my greatest fears; possible drowning and SHARKS! No thank you, I will not be seeing this one!!!

Yeah I'd probably get bored too... but think how scary that would be to die that way... just floating all by yourself... in the middle of nowhere...

I just saw it over lunch.

I thought it was very good. It did a good job of making the tense scenes very tense.
When the film ends it's just dead silent in the theater. Everyone walked out of there sort of shocked.

I just watched it. It grossed more than $30 million on a budget of $130,000, wow. Knowing that it was based on real events, made this very interesting to watch. While watching them float out there in the middle of nowhere, I kept thinking of how helpless they must have felt. That must have been a terrifying way to die.

I think it is Blanchard Ryan, which is hilarious since I have a buddy in Idaho named Ryan Blanchard.

I have heard mixed things about this movie as well. My movie queue is probably 20+ right now, and that doesn't include the 20+ TV seasons that I have to watch too. I have enough stuff on my TV to watch for the rest of the year, easily. I just bought a new receiver, so I have to rewire my home theatre. I am going to buy another Oppo dvd player as well.

There is an Open Water 2, I saw the ad for it, direct to DVD I think.

I never saw the first one.

Seriously?

This is an awful, awful movie with no redeeming entertainment value whatsoever.

Other than that, it was great!

Seriously?

Are you stating your subjective opinion as fact again?

Other than that, I really value your input. Thanks for telling me I'm wrong to like the movie.
