Welcome insomniacs! I'll probably make it through an inning or two.

How 'bout a nice, eight-hour rain delay?

Made it to 12am before I konked out. Recorded it tho, but I don't have a desire to watch a recorded game where the dbacks lose.

I hate the Dodgers!

I would swap Hill for Prado and go with that lineup everyday. Prado is better #2 to get on base and Hill has more cleanup power.

On a positive note I will say this: Will Harris' stuff looked absolutely nasty. I was half asleep and didn't know who was pitching, and then saw his name. Batters were not having a good time with his pitches.

Trumbo looked pretty bad in left. I hope he can improve his defense as the season moves on.

I knew it was time to go to bed when I saw Trumbo climb the fence on a ball that dropped in play 10 feet away from him.

I just started watching the replay and came in here to comment on that play.

Oy.

Game 2 -- C D I A

Cahill does it again! One run given up in the 1st and two more in the 2nd. Four hits and a walk in the 2nd.

The D'backs should send him home and tell him to come back when he's lost 35 pounds, looks like an athlete and pitches like one.

watching us get destroyed by the australian national team and handled well by the doyers, i think we may end up being worse than last year. our starting pitching is abysmal and will give up at least 3-4 runs per game.

It's early but this team looks really bad. Can't hit, can't pitch and the defense is below average. Nothing good has come out of this Australian trip. The worst part is the Diamondbacks lose two games at Chase this year. Luckily when they get back the games don't count and they can hopefully get everything fixed.

We look terrible. Hopefully the jet lag and the odd surroundings are just effecting us more than the Dodgers.

It is not just that they are bad (outside of Goldy), it is that they are boring and dry as well. They have completely taken on the persona of their manager...

hopefully the offense will come around but this pitching isn't going to improve. you're going to get what you get out of this rotation. if this offense outside of goldy can't get anything going we may be only a 60-70 win team.

For what it is worth, the D-backs rallied late to beat the Dodgers 5-2 in Game 2 . . . if you don't factor in the 5 runs given up early by Fatty Cahill. :)

And Trumbo's first HR. We actually have hitters from #1 to #8 (if Miggy can remember how to hit) who can make things happen in any given game.

I don't think the offense will be as bad as some think. Especially when Chris Owings is named as our SS.

Someone had suggested that Prado and Hill switch places in the batting order. But as Steve Berthiaume pointed out, the last time Prado hit second, he was trying to hit everything to the opposite field for the sake of the team. When he was moved out of the #2 spot and urged to pull more pitches, he came to life.

Cahill is truly a disaster... Hard to see him playing a positive role on this team.
Reed looked good which was nice to see.
Gonna be a very interesting fist half of the season. I can't say I disagree with Phrazbit that a mid season sell off can very well be in the cards...

Besides the results, I for one was absolutely over the moon to attend D'Backs games! It's just a shame it took 27 innings in Sydney for them to get going!
