The young bats and the bullpen. And the fun of watching a well run team.

Go D-backs.

Goldy will get going, not too worried about him.

I think Collmenter is going to get rocked as a starter though. Certain teams might struggle with him but the more studious ones will get used to his goofy delivery pretty quick, and once they do he is done, his pitches have nothing on them.

And I will say for the 1000th time... Trumbo should not be in the NL. That guy is the absolute worst out fielder I have ever seen, all that talk about how a move to right from left would fix his problems went out the window as he was challenged to make a play, and promptly looked like a little leaguer.

People have been saying that for years and it has yet to happen aside from some normal struggles here and there.

His first game sucked, and he is in no way a real #1, but he is definitely much better than a lot of people think.

While they have scored some runs off the starters, the SF lineup without Sandoval doesn't seem intimidating at all.

I think he is a solid reliever, but as a starter players are going to get 2-3-4 looks against him every time he pitches. Players adjust and I don't think Collmenter has the stuff to adjust back.

Knowing that Aaron Hill is going to be showcased for a trade, the first six in tonight's batting is, I believe, our best combination with which to go forward.

But I know Chip isn't ready to commit to a regular lineup yet.

Pollock CF
Owings 2B
Goldy 1B
Peralta LF
Trumbo RF
Lamb 3B

Up until that dang 2 run homer this was a 1 run game. We have been close in every game so far which is refreshing. I am enjoying watching the young players play. Bring on the stupid Dodgers!

Starters went 14.1 IP in a three game series. This Bullpen won't last that kind of strain.

Nope, but the next two starts are Anderson and Bradley, so hopefully we will see the future.

They were bad but every team deals with this at the start of the season.

C'mon ya'll we all knew the pitching staff was going to be this team's downfall.

Well, let's just hope that they can find a way to be the Royals of last year. A bunch of real no namers that played awesome as a team....

Hellickson gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in only four inning last night. Yikes!
I have hope that the starting pitching staff, as weak as it is, can be no worse than marginal and be carried by the relievers and hitters.

But watching Hellickson was just as disappointing as watching Kim once upon a time. His body language looked like that of a high school pitcher -- a high school pitcher with very little confidence.

It will be interesting to see if that perception changes.
