opTIMism: Cardinals very much alive in NFC Playoff race entering Week 10!

http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture

With all the gloom and doom threads on this message board I figured this post was needed heading into the bye week. Our beloved Cardinals are very much alive for the NFC playoffs entering Week 10 - and the above link clearly shows the Big Red in the hunt.

Heading into Week 10 - a NY Jets win over Seattle would really help the Cardinals as the Seahawks (5-4) are currently the 6th seed in the NFC. But click on the link and you will see the Cardinals are in the middle of the playoff race- and big name franchises like Dallas, Philadelphia and New Orleans are not. And compared to where the Cardinals were one year ago at this time I'll gladly take their current 4-5 record.

More reasons for opTIMism- After the bye week hopefully QB Kolb, RB Wells, TE Heap, CB Toler all return to the starting line-up.

For those of you who want to believe the next "7" weeks can be very special, this is the thread to post under!

Go Cardinals!

The Cardinals like to play in streaks. So why not 7 wins in a row?

11-5 with 'em. 11-5 without 'em.

If they can squeak out a win against the Falcons I may believe. If not, the we'll be sitting at 5-7 with maybe only 1 more win on the schedule (STL at home).

Hey Tim in NJ, I love your optimism. I hope that you are safe and warm and dry. I understand the need for positive things to be on the horizon, so I won't be raining on your parade at all. I also know that all things are possible sooooooo-----GO CARDS !!

They will not be very soon.

I could be a lot more optimistic if the teams we've lost to weren't a combined 0-7 since they beat the Cardinals. :(

On the other hand the teams we've beaten are 13-10 since losing to Arizona. So maybe we're not so bad after all. :)

That is crazy... perhaps replacement refs syndrome???

Come on Falcons.

Need a come back vs the Saints. If Atlanta loses today we're 4-6. No way they lose two in a row especially to the Cards at home. Chicago or Pittsburgh maybe but not Arizona. We never beat any top team on the road who lost the week before.

Need that game to start our lucky 7 streak.

Fans- we can be opTIMistic and it starts today, right now! For starters we need to root for the Bears to beat the SF 49ers tonight. Then the 49ers travel to face the red hot Saints on a short week. That would mean come next Sunday the mighty 49ers can be at 6-4-1.

If the Cardinals can run the ball like they did yesterday (kudos to rookies Potter and Massie) and the defense plays like they did yesterday- Kolb or not- the Cardinals find a way to beat the Rams and get to 5-6.

Seattle factors in as well but the Cardinals already beat them and still play them again.

What im getting at is the schedule is a little easier from this point to the end of the season and ANYTHING is still possible for our beloved Cardinals- especially if Kolb, Wells and Heap all return this week!

Go Cardinals!

You did realize that LSH gained 14 yards on 11 carries in the second half yesterday and had 10 carries for 24 yards running to the left?

However, if the Cards defense can just not give up that one big drive that costs them games they can beat the Rams. 13-10. 9-6. We'll take 'em anyway we can get 'em.
