Wow, that was one of the all time bone-headed plays ever. That kid went from a hero for leading a miraculous comeback, to goat as fast as you can.

I was watching on GameTrax and I saw that Cal was inside OSU's 20. Why didn't they at least get a FG?

Instead of throwing the ball away the Cal freshman QB ran the ball and time ran out.
They couldn't even get the kicker on the field to tie it.
Big time rookie mistake.
They could have tied it with a chip shot too.

With 14 seconds left, Cal's QB scrambled and got tackled in the middle of the field. The QB runs off the field rather than trying to line them up for a spike and the clock expired.

This will sound like sour grapes but that series where OSU held was really the game and I still say Forsett scored on the first play. he spun off the hit and scored but they ruled his forward progress was stopped, and then OSU stuffed him 3 more times and held.
Riley showed a lot of arm and talent but what a colossally dumb way to end the game.

Nobody knows, cal lied all week and said his ankle was ok and he'd play and then started Riley. Allegedly Nate could play in an emergency but he never got in.
But after OSU took over they were really backed up almost to the goal line and could not move the ball, giving Cal excellent field position after the punt. Cal scored an easy TD on that drive. It's possible they would have scored either way, but they would have had to go a lot further had they scored the first time around.

Yeah but you're forgetting Cal did NOT score on that series because of the goalline stand. If Forsett was ruled in on the first play Cal would have scored about 4 minutes earlier to take the lead.
In the end Cal had their chance to tie or win it and blew it.
I am amazed they're ranked behind Oregon now though, they beat them at Oregon.
