Get your arm circles ready, as our long suffering of not seeing the team stretch at the beginning of practice is over under Wilks!

Still a mistery why they removed stretching
In the same time they still keep the athletic trainers
So it was just Bruce Arians decision

It was the time spent doing it took away from time they could be actually practicing. The labor agreement has set time limits, so BA wanted all of that time to be used practicing, saying something to the effect that the players are grown men, know what they need to do and be ready by the time practices starts.

There's a rationale to that, but also creates uncertainty as to whether players were doing enough and if they weren't it's harder to keep track of what.

I wonder if the two-field training camps will continue. Probably not. That seemed to be an Arians thing and maybe a couple others.

A. I hope we keep the two fields. I like the approach of having

B. I liked putting the onus on players to stretch before practice begins in order to maximize actual practice time. These guys are pro's, earning millions of dollars. No excuse for them not to be able to head out to the field 15 minutes before practice to get properly stretched and warmed up.

It's sounds great and smart in theory, it just seems like best laid plans of mice and men.

Coaches like Tom Coughlin are famous for insisting on and penalizing players for not being early to meetings. IMO, this is the exact same thing. Now, perhaps Arians staff should have monitored who was actually showing up and doing their stretching before practices; however, I have a feeling doing so may have been a violation of league rules.... as that then becomes a team monitored/led practice.

Again, if professional athletes want to be treated as professionals... they can't have their hand held 24/7.

Go Cards.
