Evan Brown, Jonah Williams, Blake Gillikin, SMB, Mack Wilson, Froholdt, Kyzir White, have all been solid or good starters.

Even guys like Collier, Colon and Tonga have been good value and solid contributors.

Jones and Nichols didn't get enough play to be considered.

That's not terrible.
Would these guys be starters on other teams?

We were talent depleted and part of that was on MO.

This is an absurd list.

Evan Brown - below average starter
Jonah - below average starter
Gillikin - average at best
Wilson - average at best
Fro - sometimes above average, sometimes below
SMB - lol
White - average at best

To say all these guys have been good starters is beyond ridiculous.
I like Fro more than average but yea I agree with this overall.

Brit just has abnormally low standards for Monti for whatever reason.

i have mixed feelings about the OP

its basically a comparison of Monti vs 31 other teams. Thus, not a fair comparison

that said, what is fair:

with 5 picks in the top 90: its fair to expect some better representation in the all-rookie lists

personally i have two complaints about 2024 and its one of quality vs quantity:

1. All those 3rd round picks were great ammo to move up in the first round from the second 1st round pick. As the pass rushers fell -- moving up to get one was definitely realistic.
2. I thought the 2nd round trade down was too cute. I was banging the drum for Cooper DeJean.

I think all of them might have found a starting job elsewhere in the league, but I don't know if they all would have found a starting job on 16+ teams (above-average starter, to my definition).

Brit just has abnormally low standards for Monti for whatever reason.

He loves management. Loved Keim until it was glaringly obvious he had to go. Promotes Michael Bidwill (of all people!) as a sound leader and pillar of the community. Just brutal.

Oh I know lmao. I remember all the excuses he was making for Keim’s roster building in 2022 only to finally criticize him the following year after he got the boot.

knock off the simp talk please.

Simp: Someone who shows excessive sympathy or attention towards another person, typically to someone who does not reciprocate their feelings.

Oxford Dictionary:

Simp. A silly or foolish person.

What's the issue?

The issue is calling someone a foolish person over and over again. Why the saltiness?

Specifically, anyone defending this last draft is showing excessive sympathy towards Ossenfort. especially when even questioning it gets comments like "Stupid Post", which is apparently all fine and dandy. I consider it to be pretty silly to be defending it

I will say it’s sooooo on brand for the Cardinals. To draft the BEST most NFL ready WR in years. At number 4 overall with a nice big fat contract to go with it. With the pedigree and production in college to back it up. To come in and completely underwhelm. Be outplayed buy at least 3-4 lesser drafted WRs.

Yet the Rams can go out and find a literal dominant force at the WR position to come in and dominate the league from day 1 in the freaking 5th round and not have to pay him jack for 3 full seasons.

Just to remind everyone, Monti ended up with 5 picks in the top 90.

Let's see how that worked out for him on the all rookie team.

QB: Daniels, Nix. No Cards and no shocks

RB: Bucky Irving (4th round) and Tyrone Tracy (5th round). 4th honorable mention is Benson. Hey you spent a top 80 pick on the 6th best rookie RB. The only thing worse than drafting a backup RB in round 3 is drafting a backup TE in round 3.

WR: Brian Thomas Jr, Malik Nabers, Ladd McConkey, Marvin Harrison Jr, Xavier Worthy, Rome Odunze. Hey you drafted the 4th best WR at 4. Good job Monti.

TE. Brock Bowers Rd 1, AJ Barner Round 4. There are 4 honorable mentions and none of them are Tip Reiman because that pick sucks. The Seahawks rookie was somehow able to block and catch the ball a full round later. It's a wild concept. Reiman was a 6th round pick drafted in round 3.

OT: Alt, Latham, Fuaga, Rosengarten (#62). No Cardinal in the 5 honorable mentions.

Guard: Here we go Monti draft bros. Dominick Puni (#86) Jackson Powers Johnson (#44). Hey two top guards drafted after round 1. One after our picks in round 3. Second Team: Mason McCormick (#119) and Layden Robinson (#103) Oh crap like literally anyone after our pick would have been great. Isaiah Adams and his shitshow piay is the #6 rookie guard but drafted 2nd

Center: Zach Frazier, the best offensive line in the draft at pick #51. Taking Melton over him was my #1 stupid move. 2nd team Graham Barton (We took Robinson over him).

Edge: Verse and Chop. We should have traded up for Chop. Chop finishes with 56 QB pressures. 2nd team Latu and Elliss (#76) Ellis finishes with 5 sacks, which would lead our team. But yeah Reiman and Benson

DT: Fiske (39), Sweat (38). LOL Max Melton. Either of these guys would be our best DL. I can't express how bad the Melton pick is and I am tired of you all defending it. 2nd team Murphy and Newton (#36) Oh look another DL that would have been better than Melton

LB: Edgerrin Cooper (#45) Payton Willis (#95). Its just sad at this point who was available while we were taking 2nd and 3rd string players. Tryce Knight #118 and Undrafted Omar Speights are next.

DB. Oh here we go. We drafted two in round 3, one in round 4, and one in round 7. Here is where Monti is a good drafter. BZZZZZZ

Quinyon Mitchel #22 and Mike Sainirstil #50. OMG drafted after Melton it's media bias. 3rd Wiggins #30 Kamari Lassiter #42 (literally everyone had Lassiter over Melton before the draft. Like everyone) Still (#137).

Melton rings in at CB #8 in the rookie pool

S - We got this right with Rabbit? NOPE BullockNub (#118), Speights (undrafted), Nubin #47. Rabbit in the #8 Safety in this class
Regarding Melton...where did Williams end up ranking as a rookie last year? That's how I will compare draft picks. Let's look to see what kind of leap Melton and the others can make from year 1 to year 2.

That I don't know, which is fair.

I honestly don't think Monti believed thought Garrett Williams or Kei'Trel Clark were that good after year 1. Otherwise it makes even less sense to have taken 2 CBs in round 3. Where does Elijah Jones even play now?

No one on the team thought Clark was good after six weeks. He got buried and hasn’t resurfaced in any meaningful way.

I don’t know why but the Cards have put a limiter on Williams and seem to only play him from the slot.

Murphy-Bunting is probably on the roster next season but has an easy out in 2026. I don’t expect to see much of him in 2025 tbh.

It's usually an insult about overly submissive men who show attention to women hoping to get some but ultimately get shot down. At least that's what the rappers say.

You can be a simp for anything. My current title is Arizona Sports Simp because Suns and Cards are tragic yet here I am (It's been that for like a week before this thread)

The 215
Brown, Williams, Gillikin, Wilson, Froholdt, SMB and White have all been "good" starters.
Brit, are you serious with SMB? It took him way too long to have any sort of impact. I need him replaced next year, stat. Remove him from that list and I'm good.
