Disagree. Cardinals own the pick, Harrison is a generational talent, and the Vikings are desperate for a QB. The Cardinals either get 3 first round picks without giving back ANYTHING to the Vikings or we move on and draft Harrison. Anything short of that & I will be disappointed in MO.
Exactly. We shouldn't give assets back to MIN they have to compensate us for moving off of Harrison or similar caliber player. The trade value chart is a starting point not the be all.

The trade value chart is a starting point for reporters and fans.

It's meaningless to the GMs who are making the trades.

It's supply, demand and need.

Harrison is not a generational talent. Again, all the GM's are stating that the wide receivers are all very close and Harrison is not at the top of everyone's board. If he was this generational talent he would be
He may or may not be generational but no GM is telling anyone anything factual right now. We have no clue who is where on what boards.

If the world knows that the Cardinals value Harrison SO HIGHLY, why would the Vikings offer such a ridiculous bounty for a trade-up with the Cardinals - they could just make a much more reasonable offer to the Chargers and still get their guy. 3 1st round picks for a move from 11 to 4 is just not realistic.

They may know they value him highly. But there are other teams that could be I the market for a QB that’s who you’re bidding against. They may not know if the Cards are just as content to get a guy like Odunze.

Fair point, and the (awful) precedent was set for giving up three first round picks to move from #12 to #3 when the 49ers did it for the third QB in three 2021 draft.

The Cards' ability to maximize the value of #4 will ride on the value difference Minnesota perceives between the 4th and 5th QBs, plus the ability of the Cards to convince the Vikings that the Giants or Raiders are making massive offers.

It will be fun to watch the high stakes poker game play out. Of course I'd love to see the Cards either stay at #4 or get a huge haul to move back, but my feeling is that the only way they get three first rounders would be if they give something back to the Vikings.

Asking for 3 1st round picks is NOT unrealistic because by moving from 4 to 11, the Cardinals lose out on not just 1 generational WR, but possibly 3 generational WR’s. Not only is there a QB tax involved in MN gaining the opportunity to get their QB of the future, but the Cardinals lose out on getting a highly sought after piece of their puzzle. Especially since we currently have the worst WR room in all of football. The Vikings could make a trade with the Chargers, but it would have to be after the Cardinals make their selection & the Chargers are on the clock. Otherwise, if it’s a pre-draft night trade, they then run the risk of the Giants making a trade with the Cardinals to move from 6 to 4 & stealing McCarthy. And the Cardinals then still would have a star WR to pick from at 6 in addition to whatever picks they get from the Giants. The Cardinals own ALL the cards with any trade with MN. You MAKE them overpay with 3 1st round picks for their QB of the future or you just don’t make the trade with them. It’s that simple. This isn’t about the trade being fair or realistic.

The Cards negotiations with Minnesota is an easy formula. You ask for a ridiculous package that you think they’d 95% decline and if they actually meet it then you can justify passing on a WR for a bunch of 1sts or Justin Jefferson/#11/#23. If they say no then we take the generational talent and sleep well that night.

Mara just publicly stated that he was supportive of drafting a QB...

Vikings have showed interest and already moved up the first round. Sean Peyton is publicly taking about moving up and taking to Monti. The Giants are publicly stating that there are in the market for a QB. It's a seller's market for Monti.

Ask for the moon from MIN and DEN. If not enough. Get a 2nd and future 2nd/3rd from the Giants. Draft MHJ/Odunze/Nabers at #6.

Agreed completely, but even 3 1sts isn't enough. To trade out of the top 3 WRs, there had damned well be plenty more coming our way.

3 firsts IS enough when you are as devoid of talent as AZ is. That said, Monti has to have an agreement in place to trade back up to 7 for one of the WRs or he doesn't make the trade.

What if the trade was the vikings two firsts and Justin Jefferson. That would give us four 1st round picks and the early second yo build a lot if early talent and add the wr we need?
It would give us 3 first round picks. Remember we give up 4.

I would do that deal in a heartbeat (if Jefferson had agreed to an extension). But I doubt we get anything near that.

For me the only trade that makes sense is with the Giants for two #2's, one this year and one next year. We ensure ourselves that we get one of the top three WR's, and add a second round pick. Also, we might get an additional third or fourth round pick. Even better.

And devoid of top talent, and this would--once again--take us out of the elite talent range. SMH, it would be so Cardinals.

Sure, if you can 100 percent guarantee Monti can trade back up and 100 percent guarantee one of the big receivers will still be there, which you can't. You can't guarantee any of that. Plus, while I love Nabers, we really need MHJ or Odunze. We need size on the outside, not another slot type.

What the 'world' knows and what Monti thinks may not be quite the same, and that's the rub.

Example: The Vikes move to #5, and then the CARDS flip picks with the GIANTS for a later sweetener in this draft because, unbeknownst to the 'world', Monti sees WR #2 and #3 as acceptable alternatives.

Trade-up scenarios for #4 and #5 are uncertain, to say the least, at this point.

In the trade I posted they get 3 first rounders and still end up with Odunze. I am surprised how little interest there is in that when the difference between Odunze and Harrison is minute.
