If Amare was THE man in the east there would be no comparison. He is currently one of the many scoring options on a star studded team in the west. We have even been outraged that he doesnt get enough touches in the game. That has never been the case with dwight. All the offense ends up with the ball in his hands.

dwight isn't exactly on a team full of losers. Nelson, turk, lewis, and arroyo are all solid players.

just a side statistic, amare averages 14 fg attempts a game while dwight averages just under 13 so your point about amount of touches is moot.

Anybody claiming Yao couldn't defend the post should watch the game Rockets-Magics again. Yao clearly outplayed Dwight, not just on stat sheet!

If healthy was no concern, I'd certainly pick Amare ahead of Dwight to build a team. Place a Camby/KT next to Amare, the team can be unstoppable. Dwight's offense is still raw compared to Amare, and likely will remain so. Amare's body control, finishing after body collision, is unreal, unparalelled I'd even say. And he has the jump shots Dwight is never to shoot as smoothly.

amare is much better player then dwight its not even close i say it again and again!

i don't think dwight has the same drive as amare but at this point i have no reason to believe that dwight wouldn't somehow bounce back from a major injury

moses malone is the perfect comparison. many say a younger shaq but i see a more athletic guy who will develop to be much better than shaq in the long run

No way dwight howard is a moses malone type. Moses was a great rebounder who was not a shot blocker at all, which dwight excels at. Moses also was a very good foul shooter and knew how to draw the fouls on the low block with some cagey moves. Dwight is much more athletic than moses ever was, but has almost zero post up skills. Dwight could be a much better player than Moses, if he as the eye of the tiger and works on his game.
