I can't imagine he would be cheap to trade for. I would love to have him here but I don't see it happening.

Why would the Chargers do this? He's proven he has some great talent, albeit can get burned. However he's relatively cheaply signed through 2011

2nd or 3rd round pick and a conditional pick in 2010 I'd imagine. We'd use one of those picks on a corner anyway.

I would bust a nut to have him here. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.

What if we got Cromartie, DRC, and McFadden! OMG! :D :p

I don't see it happening either, but I just love the idea of having the Cromartie cousins wearing Cardinal red.

Wow.

Something smells rotten in SD.

Why would you let a CB with that kind of talent leave ?

Maybe because his hip is more damaged than the Chargers are letting on and he's actually not as good in coverage as his hype would lead you to believe....?

Keep in mind that this is the same GM that would trade away LT because of a bad season. Antonio Cromartie had a bad season so he wants to take Drayton Florence back and trade away AC.

I can buy the first, and I can even believe the second (by nature of position all CB's are overvalued), within reason, but where do you believe he's overrated?
Is he a gambler? Does he show poor technique? Does he fail at press coverage?
When you say the machine of hype is grinding, in what proportion do you speak? DeAngelo Hall? Asomugha and Bailey also get 'hype' but does it exceed production?

Like i said, it works both ways. But it's easier for an average corner to be noticed when Merriman is rushing the quarterback. That's why Asomugha is so amazing. He does it constantly.

It's also the reason why i'm not overly excited with a possible McFadden signing. It's not that i don't want him here, it's just difficult to predict his future here without Harrison and Woodley rushing.

Prior to this season he was spoken in the same breath as Bailey and Scrabble because of his picks and he bought into his own hype. He got cocky and gambled more often, getting burnt because he has yet to learn how to consistently shut his man down. He's more ballhawk than actual cover corner at this point in his career.

He's not overrated per se, just overhyped because people fell in love with his numbers and skillset.

Because when his rookie deal expires, he's going to want Scrabble-type money whether he deserves it or not.

How could San Deigo and Arizona make the playoffs with both having such terrible front offices.

It's a wonder I tell you.
Graves couldn't hold AJ Smith's jock. He may be an ass, but worked out one of the best trades in history with the Ei/Rivers thing and continually drafts well.

Also, occasionally making the playoffs doesn't make you great. The fact that we didn't make it for so long shows how pathetic we were, but they dont give away rings for playoff appearences for a reason.

I'd do a Q for Cromartie trade straight up.

Our secondary would be beyond set if we could also sign McFadden and we could look for a pass-rusher and get down to the business of becoming the balanced offense that Whiz envisions (I believe we'll always be a pass-first offense as long as we have both Boldin and Fitz).

I'd want a 3rd as well.

You would trade Q for a one year rental of a nickelback? If we wanted to re-sign the guy we would end up spending well over 30 million in our secondary per season.
