I don't know if I ever mentioned this here but about 15 years ago my father in law was diagnosed with leukemia and after years of chemotherapy, which started to falter, and another experimental treatment that wasn't successful, he volunteered for a new genetic treatment at the University of Pennsylvania. It's a procedure where they extract T-Cells from your body and mutate them with a strain of HIV, put them back, and these new cells fight cancer. Well, once he got the treatment, his body started to break down. We thought we were going to lose him. In fact, as the article states, we were all summoned to the hospital because they didn't think he was going to last the night but what was happening was that these mutated T-Cells were fighting it's own version of WWIII and they were winning. Before we knew it, he was completely cancer free and remains to to this day. In fact, we're planning his 70's birthday party. Anyhoo, here is the article that I'm sure you'll find interesting: http://thepenngazette.com/the-t-cell-warriors/
