I don't know if I ever mentioned this here but about 15 years ago my father in law was diagnosed with leukemia and after years of chemotherapy, which started to falter, and another experimental treatment that wasn't successful, he volunteered for a new genetic treatment at the University of Pennsylvania. It's a procedure where they extract T-Cells from your body and mutate them with a strain of HIV, put them back, and these new cells fight cancer. Well, once he got the treatment, his body started to break down. We thought we were going to lose him. In fact, as the article states, we were all summoned to the hospital because they didn't think he was going to last the night but what was happening was that these mutated T-Cells were fighting it's own version of WWIII and they were winning. Before we knew it, he was completely cancer free and remains to to this day. In fact, we're planning his 70's birthday party. Anyhoo, here is the article that I'm sure you'll find interesting: http://thepenngazette.com/the-t-cell-warriors/

Quite a few have been helped by this, even children. This could be the miracle we've all been waiting for.

Thanks for sharing that bud. I have a co-worker that is fighting the battle right now. Her husband's cancer came back and it's been a rough few weeks for everybody at the office.

My wife had cervical cancer when she was 19. She had 3/4 of her cervix removed and thought she could never have a child. On our second currently, thank God! -- But when we were trying to get pregnant the 2nd time, we were told that my wife's cervical cancer had returned.

We were so saddened thinking about what may happen, and what may never happen again. There was talk of removing a lot of her cervix again. Two weeks later, we found out she was pregnant.

We decided together to go full term with the pregnancy and deal with the cancer after since it was rated a mid grade cancer but not anything super serious yet. After our second daughter came (3 months ago) my wife went back to the OB GYN. The OB was the 2nd doctor to examine her during this second fight with cancer and before the baby was born he confirmed she had cancer on her cervix.

A miracle happened though.. my wife gave birth to our second daughter and during the process, the cancer cells were naturally scraped from her cervix and now after another exam after the birth, she is cancer free.

Amazing how things can work out!

Bless you and your father in law!
