What in the name of god are the Eagles doing? And does anyone want to start a pool on Chip Kelly's return date to college coaching?
I would imagine there are conditions attached to these picks, depending on Bradford's health, production. Has to be.
There is no way that Bradford is the opening day starter for the Eagles. They are gearing up for a big trade on draft day. I think Mariota is still in play.
That's what the rumor is right now. That Philly and NYJ have a deal in the works for draft day. That the NYJ covet Bradford.I posted it elsewhere I think but I can totally see Chan Gailey sitting in his office drooling over Sam Bradford and the Jets trading for Bradford and a pile of picks so Left Shark Kelly can draft his Hawaiian wonder boy.
Chan Gailey is that stupid.
Such as they were. It did net him the OROY but I don't think Shurmur's really running things on offense if Philly. Of course, I'm biased as I couldn't stand him when he was with the Rams and his subsequent results as HC of Cleveland only reinforced my feeling that he wasn't very good.Bradford put up good numbers with Shurmur didn't he?
Everyone kind of snickered in disbelief when Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Wednesday that he was offered a first-round pick for quarterback Sam Bradford.
Then St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher said on PFT Live that he was offered a low first-round pick for Bradford, but wanted Nick Foles instead.
Now, Fisher told us for weeks that Bradford was unquestionably his quarterback and that trade talk wtih him was crazy. Then he traded him to Philly. So there's that. And football coaches don't have a clean track record when telling the truth.
But let's play along and assume that the coaches are telling the truth. Who is offering a first-round pick for Bradford, coming off consecutive ACL surgeries with a mediocre 79.3 rating in 1,760 NFL attempts?
Let's figure that a "low first-round pick" is at least No. 20 or lower. Cleveland has the 19th pick, and needed a quarterback before signing Josh McCown (let's just say they probably still need a quarterback afer signing McCown), but it's tough to sell No. 19 as a low first. So let's see who is hot after Sam I Am (Rehabbing Again) pick by pick, starting with No. 20:
