I like what he did with limited skill set of Keenum. But I see another McAdoo in Shurmur

Imo that only carries you so far.

Cards fans should be happy Shumer isn’t our HC

Generally speaking, you don’t win a Super Bowl without a stud QB

Lets see in 2 weeks
As for today, playing against the best defense , by stats, of the Nfl , racking up 356 yards, 3td pass and a rating of 158 is one of the best performance i saw in a championship game

Dont get your point in response to my post.

Us getting beat by the league MVP is still less embarrassing than getting destroyed by the backup QB. I never said he wasn't playing well?

Zimmer is another example of a defense oriented HC. Say no to any similar candidate.

You mean don't hire coaches like Belichick, Pete Carroll and John harbaugh?

Well it seems defensive coaches know how to win games. As defense does win you the game. Offense scores you the points though.

AND, which ever team scores the most points win! We are getting into one hell of a deep, even philosophical, discussion about football.

This stuff is borderline profound.

Now I will say something profound.

"Sometimes, special teams can score points OR give up points! You win special teams every week, you are a championship team."

That Carolina team lost what, 2 games?

That’s just because we were on the receiving end of it. This is worse.

Didn’t we give up 50 points... with a pretty healthy team. These are the Vikings with Case Keenum. They’ve been playing other house money all year. We were a dynamo and got busted harder and gave up the most points in NFC Title game history.

That was worse.

Football play is just so down this year overall and especially in NFC. Eagles suck!

I did the numbers last year, but I can’t remember them. Actually defensive minded (background) have won right at 60% of the Super Bowls

Bettcher has a very poor gameplan for that game against Carolina.

Our offense had an even worse plan.
Our team was/is a bad matchup against the Panthers imo. We really struggle against an RPO driven offense, especially trying to stop Scam.

Oddly enough, our blowout loss in the NFC title game felt more embarrassing than this game.
No. We at least moved the ball at times. We just couldn't close the deal and we actually had a chance to get back in it. We also lost to a 15-1 team. No embarrassment in that.

Regardless of who the Vikings QB was doesn't take away from the fact that the #1 defense in the league got steamrolled by a backup QB. How that's not worse than us losing to a 15-1 team the league MVP, with our own QB with a bum throwing hand, and we missing the heart of our defense.

Oh, just to throw a little factoid out to the "defense wins championships" crowd, both the #1 and #2 defenses in the league got torched for big yardage and big scores over the past 2 weeks. JAX gave up almost 600 yards and over 40 points last week and yesterday the Vikings got lit up for 400 yards and 31 points(the other 7 was the pick 6).

Haven't heard the Vikes excuse that they were an indoor team playing outside.
Maybe the Vikes should have kept Shurmur and dumped Zimmer.
