OT: Charlie Strong - not for long

Yesterday's loss to a very mediocre TCU team had to be the final straw. That Texas roster is loaded with a slew of talented athletes, who look as if that coaching staff let them down. Tom Herman or whomever gets that job has a very good chance of kicking some Big 12 ass next year with that young roster. Those players are all butt hurt now, about Charlie, but some coach like Tom Herman or P J Fleck, etc will make them soon forget. Charlie looked pathetic walking off of that field post game. Walking to the gallows. He got 3 years and a crapload of $$$$. That should hold him over until he gets a DC gig.

ESPN reporting that Tom Herman will be the next Texas Longhorns coach.

Houston has been informed of Herman's departure, a source told ESPN's Sam Khan Jr., and a team meeting has been scheduled later Saturday so Herman can deliver the news to the team. Athletic department officials will also meet Saturday to determine an interim coach for the Cougars' bowl game.

Tom Herman truly isn’t lacking for either confidence or noteworthy quotes.

During his introductory press conference as the new head coach of the Texas Longhorns, Tom Herman tossed out the quote of the month, directing a good amount of shade in Charlie Strong’s general direction.

In a clear “mic drop” moment, he didn’t hold back when asked about the pressures Charlie Strong repeatedly references in his tenure as head coach of the Longhorns.

“Pressure occurs when you’re unprepared.”

But let's revisit this in a couple years.

Not a fan of him taking a shot at the previous coach.
The last person that I can think of that took a shot at a previous coach was Charlie Weiss, and that didn't end well.
