I really don't get how the outside court can get involved in these matters but it looks like the union is going to go this road from here on out.

what they should do...is grant him an appeal hearing but make him remain on suspension until the hearing... then schedule him for february 18th or something.

"decision of the commish is final" needs to be in the next cba in lockdown legal terms, along with...any suits or appeals filed outside the league in response to any league disciplinary action will result in mandatory two year expulsion from the league.

NFL is a joke right now alone for this saga. Screw that embarrassing arbitrary law and outsource suspension cases to an independent panel that is consistent with US law!

The next CBA needs to come up with a compromise that takes the courts out off the table for disciplinary issues. Have a panel of three people, 1 selected by the League, 1 by the NFLPA, and 1 that is mutually-agreed upon. Have them serve 2-year terms. If either group thinks the independent arbiter is showing bias, he is not renewed after his term ends.

The appeals process can be put before an independent group (not judges), if you want, with an edict that decisions must come within a week of the appeal to avoid these drawn-out sagas.

Yes Goodell loses his power. So what? It's better than this embarrassing sideshow we get each year!

You do understand that many jobs have independent arbitration for workplace disputes? The reasons for the suspension are for actions not illegal under US law, which is part of the collective bargening agreement.

anytime a player appeals...if he loses,..the penalty should double.

Today was domestic violence awareness day at work. Everyone wore purple and our PIO took pictures of the group. One of my colleagues was drinking his coffee from a Dallas Cowboys mug while waiting for the photos. I told him that was in bad taste. I'm not sure he got it...

1. What point does this go to the Supreme Court?
2. Could this be the biggest waste of time for the judiciary branch of our government?

Screw Elliot, screw the Cowboys. Screw the team which self appointed themselves as America's team and the sheep which followed the title. Screw all the closet Cowboy fans in Arizona, I live in Texas and did not fall for the devil and frankly they should make that star into a pentagram on their helmet... but no worries, Dallas is winning no championship anytime soon but winning a few games will still get them shoved down your throat in the media without a playoff win
