3:26 p.m. EST: Veteran safety George Iloka has been released by the Cowboys
George Iloka is among the Dallas Cowboys‘ early roster cuts, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. Once a cornerstone of the Bengals’ secondary, Iloka earned overall grades above 65.0 in each of the last five seasons. He’s allowed a passer rating of just 76.8 over the course of his career and has a combined 27 pass breakups and interceptions on 139 career targets.

This would be good veteran depth at the safety spot because right now we only have the Thompson rookies behind Baker & Swearinger.

Are you cutting one of the rookies?

The Eagles have released veteran CB Orlando Scandrick
The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran cornerback Orlando Scandrick, according to Ian Rapoport. A former fifth-round pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, Scandrick earned a coverage grade of 70.2 in 2018, his best grade since 2014. He allowed 49 receptions from 93 targets, coming away with an interception and 12 pass breakups, the latter being the best single-season mark of his career.

He's old but still performing - wouldnt mind seeing him get us through the first 6 games over guys like Chris Jones and Brandon Williams.

Eagles released CB Orlando Scandrick.
It's a mild surprise, but also an indication of the Eagles' improved health in the secondary. Now 32, Scandrick didn't embarrass himself for the Chiefs last season. He'll get workouts.

Worth a look for sure

take scandrick and if he plays well but the other two come back healthy, it is still before the trade deadline. Lots of incentive for him to come here with the chance to start immediately.

So say Josh Norman / AJ Bouye is cut and we put in a claim. Does that give us first rights in negotiations only, meaning if he doesn't like our offer he turns us down and signs with another team?

You can only claim players inside of 4 years in the league. Vested vets are free agents.
