3 year deal! No $ terms released yet per NFL network.

Now he can torment Philly 2x a year.

That was the scoop today. That the Redskins, being in the same division, knew what a talent Jackson was and were likely to pick him up.

whew! i was hearing reports the Niners were interested. that wouldn't have even been fair. a bajillion draft picks plus a receiving quartet of Jackson, Crabtree, Boldin and Vernon Davis? that offense could have been terrifying.

At least he will be able to find a new gang quickly. The DC/Baltimore areas have no shortage.

I do not see the Eagles regretting this much. How often does any team end up regretting dumping one of these disgruntled Prima Donna receivers? Almost never. How often does their next team seriously regret having signed them? Almost always.

His value as a receiver is seriously overrated. Last year was the first time in his career he broke 62 catches and it came in Chip Kelly's number inflating offense. Where he was actually a threat was in the return game, but he has not ran in a kick in 3 years.

I bet dollars to donuts that the Skins end up giving him the axe too before his contract is up.

Actually, unless it has changed DC didn't have the big gangs and that is why the crime rate was so high in the 80s/90s. It was a free for all with drug kingpins running roughshod all over the city with to territories. Google this guy if you are interested in what it was like back then - Rayful Edmond.

You realize that were a many reports that was the reason he was cut? He was flashing gang signs not only on twitter, but also in games.

I would not call someon racist while being ingnorant to the facts.

So him throwing up gang signs, having gang tattoos, hanging with gang members, and naming his label "Jaccpot"(Crips never put the letters "C" & "K" together) mean nothing then?

The funniest thing is the guy he did the alleged gang sign to is DeAngelo Hall who plays for Washington and was one of the players hosting Jackson before he signed.

It is interesting how the Eagles reacted though. Paul Pierce for example has been caught several times on camera flashing gang signs in NBA games. Pierce is from Inglewood and openly talked about how one of the reasons he went to Kansas was he wanted to get away from the gangs he grew up with(another was getting a brand new SUV from boosters). Boston probably wasn't thrilled with it but they never seemed overly alarmed.

But since the Aaron Hernandez case the entire outlook on it has flipped.

It's a typical knee jerk response. It's easier to attack the messenger than to address the problem. Working in a prison I'm surrounded by gang members all the time and it breaks my heart how many young men who ruined their lives because they're in a gang. There is nothing positive about gangs and being affiliated with one should be discouraged. As for the typical racist comment, I beg anyone to name me one street gang that is predominantly white that is as prevalent as the Bloods, Crips, 18th Street, MS-13, Latin Kings, Ñeta, etc. Hiding your head in the sand is not going to hide the truth.

Glad he didn't sign with the 49ers. Redskins will have a good passing attack with WRs Jackson, Garcon, Roberts and TE Reed. RG3 will have plenty of weapons.

Arian Brotherhood?

Nowhere as near as prevalent as the one's I mentioned but they count. They're all but non-existent in the prison I work at where the Bloods are the most notable. Even the bikers keep to themselves and aren't a problem. Don't hear of many if any Aryan drive by's.

LAPD: DeSean Jackson Isn't Gang Member

The Los Angeles Police Department has never accused DeSean Jackson of being a gang member.

Jackson denied the claim in a statement on Friday.

Detectives in Los Angeles were interested in Jackson's ties to reputed members of the Crips when they investigated separate gang-related homicides in 2011 and 2012.

"It's kind of like 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,' " LAPD Homicide Det. Chris Barling said.

"When people grow up in neighborhoods where you have gang involvement, you don't have to look too far before you find a connection to a connection," he said.

"Now, how sinister that connection is, our position is that's for others to judge.

Jackson's High School AD, Counselor Refuse Gang Allegations

DeSean Jackson's high school athletic director and counselor came to his defense against allegations of gang affiliations.

"DeSean is a great guy -- he was a sweet kid when he was in high school, always very polite and respectful with me," said Debbie Hughes, Jackson's counselor at Long Beach Poly, according to the Press Telegram. "There was no gang activity with him. He wasn't in a gang. That's not to say other students weren't, but DeSean definitely wasn't one of them."

Rob Shock, the Poly AD added: "Every single year during his bye week he comes back and talks to the kids and goes to a game. He's always had a big heart -- it just feels like somebody out there is trying to tear him down. ... DeSean hasn't done anything, he hasn't committed any crimes."

Former Poly coach Raul Lara was quoted in the NJ.com story as saying Jackson "started to hang around some not-so-good people" after his father died, said his comments were taken out of context and had nothing to do with gang affiliations.

"Gangbanger, what the hell is that about? He's not a gangbanger," Lara told the PressTelegram.com. "All I was saying was that it was a tragic part of his life when his father died," Lara said. "He's not a gangbanger, I don't know where they're getting that from, and I didn't say that he was. I was close with his dad and I know that when his dad passed it really hit him."

Do you know something that the LAPD and Jackson's AD and counselors don't know? Please share if you do.

For those not wise to him yet, you can just ignore sunsfan88. There are lots of reasons to do this, but the primary one would be he is not even a Cardinals fan.
