talk about an awkward 5-10 minute interview. he's out of jail, apparently broke so he wrote a book which just came out and now he's doing the talk circuit.
The book is full of admissions, steroids, used to put HGH on his cereal, alcoholic, sex addict, gambling. Some of the stuff he said on Mike and Mike was baffling, he said he used to intimidate the umpires to get favorable calls, they asked if he meant make friends with them or bribe them and he declined to answer and said to read the book. In the book he says he hired private detectives to find dirt on umpires and then essentially blackmailed them into giving him favorable calls!
He told Howard Stern he will have sex for money with female fans, most of them over 50, one close to 80.
He told Mike and Mike he was investigated by the SEC over stock trading because he picked something like 274 winners out of 275 stocks. They found nothing wrong and cleared him. When Greenie asked how it was possible to pick that many winners he said he'd found a loophole in the system that allows him to control stocks.
He looked horrible, for a 53 year old all cleaned up he looked terrible. Very hard to understand he finally explained he was beaten in jail 4 years ago, he seemed to be saying by cops, and he lost a bunch of his teeth as a result. I know I'd read elsewhere it was actually from meth use but he didn't mention that. He repeatedly told them to read the book or read his website it was clearly annoying them that he was so evasive on questions but I guess when you're flat broke you need people to buy your book.
