This is an example of why Miami will always be an inferior sports market. They just have no sport smarts whatsoever.

On Oct. 23, when Tim Tebow(notes) and the Broncos visit, the Dolphins will be honoring the 2008 national champion Florida Gators. That was Tebow's team. And they'll be doing all this in a stadium that is also home to the Miami Hurricanes, and the Miami Hurricanes do not like the Florida Gators.

The Tebow slurpers will come out en masse and this will be one of the few games not blacked out locally, because of them.

If the UF team gets front row seats in the visitor's sideline section, they'll have plenty of time during the game to talk to him when he doesn't dress. :lmao:

i just don't get the Tebow love. Danny Wuerffel and Chris Leak won just as many national titles as Leak did as the starting QB... and Weurffel had a better record.

dude won 4 SEC Titles, one national championship, one Heisman, 2 All-American awards... while Tebow won, what? 2 SEC titles, one national title as starting QB, one heisman and 2 all-american awards.

i don't get it.

what did the director John Ford say in his movie "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance"- "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend", well the Dolphins are taking it to a whole new level as the rest of the state of Florida with this whole enlargement of the legend which is Tebow

Because Tebow was 10 times the player that either of them were. I guess you didn't watch all three play if you make this comment. :)

Tebow is the greatest player in SEC history, statistically speaking.

Total bush league. Very SOC-ish. Miami was once a world class organization; how the mighty have fallen.

Tebow will probably be the starting QB for the Dolphins by that time.

I think he's meh. Turns it up on game day (compared to how he practices), but is still just a "meh" NFL QB.

Hey now. It's a slow day and it was an article that made me do a double-take, just to make sure I read it right. Thought it might be fun to debate on this board, but I certainly don't care about it.

Has nothing to do with the Cards, after all.

It's just weird. Are they prepared to honor the national championships won by Miami and Florida State, too? It would almost seem to make more sense for the Jaguars to do it. Although there are probably more Florida alums in Miami.
